Tuesday, April 16, 2019. New York City – I took these pictures yesterday outside the Kings County Civil Court in New York City.
This is the info I got from workers: “Why are we on strike?
Workers at CAMBA Legal Services unionized last summer, and since then we have been negotiating with CAMBA Management to obtain a first contract.
CAMBA Management has refused to accept basic proposals like annual salary increases for support staff, parental leave for employees, and employee retention to ensure quality services for CAMBA clients-all while CAMBA’s top executives make upwards of $400,000 a year.
If you are a community member or CAMBA client, we ask you to call CEO Joanne Oplustil and demand that CAMBA bargain in good faith with our union at (718) 287-2600 Ext. 20245
CAMBA employees deserve rights and fair compensation! If you are a CAMBA employee and interested in joining the movement for justice at CAMBA, please contact Alexi at ashalom@alaa.org or 347-417-1715″
