Sunday, February 22nd, 2015. New York City – Today, was the 16th Annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade & Festival in NYC. Over 5,000 people marched in the parade, which started at Mott Street and promenade.

I have photographed and videotaped rallies, marches, parades on marriage equality, “Stop and Frisk”, Immigration, Occupy Wall Street, Mexican/Latino community, Black community, Muslim community, Asian community, LGBTQ community, HIV/AIDS events, YoSoy132, International Workers Day/May Day, Indigenous community, Palestine, animal rights, Caribbean community, etc. I have also photographed the four Mother Nature seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) in NYC, sunrises, sunsets and more. I only have one Canon camera right now and I would love to have two professional cameras and different lenses. New York City – Yesterday, Thursday, February 19th, a group of animal-rights activists were at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, to protest against the Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus for the use of animals. The organizations that attended the rally were PETA, Animal Defenders International, CompassionWorks International, Friends Of Animals United NJ (FAUN), NYCLASS, Long Island Orchestrating for Nature – LION, GooseWatch NYC, Cynthia King Dance Studio, Manhattan Young Democrats and others.

New York City – Yesterday, Sunday, February 15th, Existence is Resistance, The Sekou Odinga Defense Committee and The Campaign to Bring Mumia Home held a celebration and fundraiser for recently released political prisoner of 34 years, Sekou Odinga. The event was at The Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center in the Washington Heights section of Upper Manhattan.

New York City – Rookie NYPD officer Peter Liang was indicted on Tuesday, February 10th by a Brooklyn grand jury for the killing of Akai Gurley on November 20th, 2014 in the Pink Houses projects in the neighborhood of East New York, Brooklyn. On Wednesday, February 11th, after officer Liang’s arraignment, Kimberly Ballinger, Akai Gurley’s partner and mother to his child, her attorney Scott Rynecki, Akai’s aunt, Hertencia Petersen and activists held a press conference outside Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth Thompson’s office. Family members demand a conviction.
