“Juan and Rosemarie need to raise 200,000 dollars in order to pay for contractors, plumbers, structural engineers, and building materials, as well as fees to the City Department of Buildings. If they are unable to pay, the City will not only demolish their home, it will charge them heavily for the demolition. Juan and Rosemarie will lose everything, and the land will go to the City, which will likely sell to luxury developers.
