Tuesday, October 27, 2015. New York City – I used to drink alcohol in the past. It was a problem. I needed to stop drinking. Today, I have 60 days without drinking alcohol. Having a glass of wine, a beer, etc. is OK, but if I feel that I need to use alcohol to run away from my inner pain, then it’s time to stop running and heal my childhood wounds.
I was a victim as a child, but not anymore. As an adult, I was still feeling like a victim. I needed to let go my victim mentality and be grateful.
My parents did not teach me how to love myself unconditionally because they did not know. My parents did the best that two wounded adult children could do. I can learn how to love myself as I am now.
I am healing and taking care of my inner child now. I am learning to let go my toxic shame. I am learning to let go habits that are not helping me. I have the power within me to change. I am learning to be with myself. I am learning to have a relationship with myself. I still have work to do, but I feel much better now.
Author John Bradshaw, says in his book Healing the Shame that Binds You: “The more I drank to relieve my shame-based loneliness and hurt, the more I felt ashamed. Shame begets shame. The cycle begins with the false belief system shared by all addicts: that no one could want them or love them as they are. In fact, addicts can’t love themselves. They are an object of scorn to themselves. This deep internalized shame gives rise to distorted thinking. The distorted thinking can be reduced to the belief, “I’ll be okay if I drink, eat, have sex, get more money, work harder, etc.” The shame turns one into what Kellogg has termed a “human doing,” rather than a human being.”

Non 12-Step Addiction Recovery | Epigenetics-Neuroplasticity | Neurogenesis | Neuroplasticity.
“Dean Taraborelli, founder of The Sanctuary at Sedona, presents compelling new science on the treatment of addictions and co-occurring disorders. You can overcome addictions, depression, anxiety.
Scientific discoveries in biology and neuroscience have provided new data that show that it is possible to change our genetic expression, create new neural networks and grow new brain neurons throughout our lifetime. This is a huge revolutionary, or more to the point, evolutionary, paradigm shift in our understanding of how our bodies and minds can heal. This presentation will discuss the sciences of Epigenetics, Energy Psychology, Neuroplasticity and Neurogenesis and their impact on addiction treatment. This discussion will provide a brief overview of Radical Transformation® an efficient and effective holistic 4-Step Program to aid people in recovery from addiction, codependency, and other self-destructive behaviors. It is now substantiated by science that the mind, body, and spirit are all interconnected, thus the possibility of complete and sustainable recovery is significantly increased when your entire being is treated, not just one part of yourself. Therefore if a client has symptoms manifesting in the mind, there must be a related imbalance in the physical body and/or energetic body. Radical Transformation® directly addresses the mind, body, spirit connection with a specific protocol that deals with each of these aspects.”_Dean Taraborelli
