The “EMERGENCY PROTEST. STAND AGAINST TRUMP’S ETHNIC CLEANSING! JORDAN AND EGYPT, REJECT THE PLAN!” in Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City), was organized by the Shut It Down For Palestine coalition, on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Despite the cold and the snow showers, the rally was at the Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza (47th ST. and 2nd AVE), near the Jordanian Mission and the United Nations. After the rally, people marched to the zionist (Israel) consulate and Pershing Square (in front of Grand Central Terminal), where they ended the demonstration.
“HAPPENING NOW: NYC STANDS AGAINST TRUMP’S ETHNIC CLEANSING!
Right now, hundreds have gathered near the Jordanian embassy in NYC to say GAZA IS NOT FOR SALE and to demand that Jordan & Egypt reject Trump’s plan, which would betray the will of their own people and facilitate the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. #FreePalestine,” said The People’s Forum on X, on February 15, 2025.
“New Yorkers are rallying outside the United Nations to send a clear message to the US administration and its Zionist and imperialist lackeys: Gaza is not for sale!
Trump has called for the expulsion of the population of Gaza and the continuation of the US–Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people. He is pressing the Egyptian and Jordanian governments to betray the will of their own people and collaborate with the forcible ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
But the people of Gaza have withstood 15 months of genocide and over 75 years of Israeli terror, and the Arab people remain united behind the Palestinian cause. No investor, no development project, and no real estate deal can erase Gaza’s history and the right of Palestinians to remain on their land.
Join us NOW at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza to make it clear that we will not tolerate these brazen attempts to uproot Palestinians from their land. The governments of Jordan and Egypt must reject Trump’s imperialist plan. Palestine belongs to the Palestinians!,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement on Instagram, on February 15, 2025.
“New Yorkers march through Manhattan to say GAZA IS NOT FOR SALE! We stand against Trump’s ethnic cleansing and demand a #FreePalestine,” said The People’s Forum on X, on February 15, 2025.
“Yesterday (February 15, 2025), New Yorkers gathered in front of the Jordanian mission to the UN to say: GAZA IS NOT FOR SALE.
No matter what pressure Trump uses to force Jordan and Egypt to give in to his plan of ethnically cleansing Gaza, they must honor the wishes of the Arab people who have always stood with the cause of Palestinian liberation. The land has always been for Palestinians and Palestinians alone — not for billionaire real estate investors or Western imperialists.
We marched in the streets of New York City for 16 months as the Biden administration unapologetically supplied Israel with billions of dollars worth of arms that annihilated upwards of 50,000 our people in Palestine, and we will continue to march — in rain, snow, or shine — as the Trump administration takes over the very same plan that the US and Israel have been working towards.
Egypt and Jordan must stand their ground in ensuring there is NO alternative to having Palestinians live on their rightful land, and represent the stance of all Arab people. The tether that binds Palestinians to their land has been sanctified by the blood of our martyrs, and no force on earth will break the bind,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement on Instagram, on February 16, 2025.
“Just this morning, in a press conference with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Donald Trump announced his intentions in plain and unequivocal terms: “We’re going to take it,” he said of Gaza. “We’re going to hold it.”
We are not going to let that happen.
Trump has given Israel the green light to sabotage the ceasefire deal and return to carpet bombing Gaza. He is pressing the Egyptian and Jordanian states to betray the will of their own people and collaborate with the forcible ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
The looming threats of ethnic cleansing and a return to war cannot go unchallenged. We must come together to refuse the continuation of these war crimes with our tax dollars. We are at a crucial juncture, and we must take to the streets like never before.
Join us on Saturday, February 15 at the Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza (near the Jordanian Mission) at 2 PM to stand with Palestine, to oppose Trump’s plan for Gaza, and to demand Jordan and Egypt reject the deal. We’ll see you there,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement on Instagram, on February 11, 2025.
Israel has arrested more Palestinians than it has released.
From January 19, 2025 to February 14, 2025, Israel has arrested more Palestinians in the West Bank than it has released.
“Since the ceasefire agreement first came into effect (January 19, 2025), Israel has arrested more Palestinians in the West Bank than it has released as part of the ongoing prisoner exchange deal.
The escalations across a number of cities in the West Bank, dubbed “Operation Iron Wall,” have led to the arrest of 380 Palestinians across mostly Jenin and Tulkarem. This is more than the number of releasees, who total 358 Palestinian prisoners, released in the exchange.
Israel is deliberately and systematically increasing its repression and abduction of Palestinians in one part of occupied Palestine after agreeing to peace in another. This is not new. In November 2023, during an agreed-upon four day truce and subsequent prisoner exchange in the Gaza Strip, Israel released 150 Palestinian prisoners during the same time period that it arrested 133 more Palestinians from East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Amany Sarahneh, spokesperson for the Palestinian Prisoners Society, told Al Jazeera that they “actually expected more people to be arrested during these four days.”
Israel’s use of baseless detainment via its so-called “administrative detention” policy is retaliation for Palestinian resistance. It underscores the false equivalency of these exchanges, and the bad faith with which Israel and its proxy, the US, attempt to maneuver around agreements and defy their terms.
In the first two weeks after October 7, 2023, Israel doubled the number of Palestinian in detainment, from 5,200 to almost 10,000. That number now stands at nearly 15,000, almost triple what it was in October 2023.
Israel aims to overwhelm the undeniable euphoria of our prisoners’ long-awaited freedom with the promise of increased, and increasingly violent, arrests. But Gaza has shown us time and time again that there are no conditions that will force Palestinians to abandon their land. Every release inspires our people to keep struggling, and every arrest is another release to come,” said the Palestinian Youth Movement on February 14, 2025.
