On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, students from different universities in New York City held a rally and march to demand the release of Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil who was “KIDNAPPED” by the Donald Trump administration on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The rally was in Washington Square Park. Peaceful protestors marched to City Hall, where democrat NYC mayor Eric Adams, NYPD officers arrested at least 12 PEACEFUL pro-Palestine students and other New Yorkers.

Anti-zionist Jews of Neturei Karta International (nkusa.org) attended the rally and march in support of Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil. I interviewed Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss. Watch the video below and other videos on my YouTube channel.

Justice for Mahmoud Khalil—Urgent Support Needed

“His family has started a fundraiser on Chuffed.org, where they will be posting updates and more details. Any other fundraiser is not associated with the family,” said the Center for Constitutional Rights on March 12, 2025.

“We are raising urgent funds to support Mahmoud Khalil and his family, a dedicated advocate for Palestinian rights and a recent graduate of Columbia University’s MPA in Development Practice program. On March 8, Mahmoud and his wife were returning home from a Ramadan dinner with friends when they were accosted by agents who identified themselves as Homeland Security (DHS) at the door to their building.

Mahmoud was arrested without being shown a printed warrant, and his wife was harassed and intimidated by the plainclothes officers. Mahmoud was denied any explanation of the charges against him. Despite being a lawful permanent resident (green card holder) of the United States, he was arrested, and his lawyers were unable to contact or locate him for the first 36 hours,” says the fundraiser on Chuffed.org.

Board members of Columbia University called authorities on Mahmoud Khalil?

“A federal judge has blocked the deportation of recent Columbia University graduate Mahmoud Khalil, a permanent legal resident of the U.S. who was arrested by immigration authorities for helping organize campus solidarity protests with Gaza. He had been receiving daily threats stemming from an online smear campaign launched by pro-Israel activists before his arrest and repeatedly appealed to university administrators for protection. Khalil, who is a Palestinian green card holder, is married to a U.S. citizen. Upon his arrest, he was separated from his pregnant wife and transported to a detention facility in Louisiana, where legal experts say he is more likely to appear before Trump-friendly judges if his case moves forward,” reported Democracy Now!

“…it’s incredibly shameful that we continue to see Columbia spiral downward. This university used to be something that was considered the cream of the crop of universities, one of the top Ivy Leagues. There was a report from The Forward yesterday indicating that it may have been some board members of the university who actually called authorities on Mahmoud, which is incredibly disingenuous for an institution that continues to parade itself as an institution that wants to champion its students and build new leaders that we need for this world. What message is this sending to not just to their immigrant students, but all their students and families, that this is something that they would be participating in?” Murad Awawdeh, president of the New York Immigration Coalition, longtime Palestinian American activist, told Democracy Now! on March 11, 2025.

“ICE doesn’t keep Jewish students safe. NYPD doesn’t keep Jewish students safe.”

“Dozens of protesters wearing red shirts that read “Jews say ICE off campus” gathered on Low Steps at around 12 p.m. Tuesday (March 11, 2025) for a demonstration in support of Mahmoud Khalil, SIPA ’24, a Palestinian activist who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at his home, which is a University-owned building, Saturday night (March 8, 2025),” reported Colette Carbonara, Spencer Davis, Dora Gao, and Nadia Knoblauch on www.columbiaspectator.com.

Spectator reports that protesters (at Columbia University) chanted “Say it loud, say it clear: Immigrants are welcome here” and “We want justice, you say how, ICE off campus now.”

Protesters also held signs which read “ICE off campus,” “Free Mahmoud,” and “Pigs are not kosher.”

Carly, a School of International and Public Affairs student said to Spectator, “ICE doesn’t keep Jewish students safe. NYPD doesn’t keep Jewish students safe.”

Jewish protesters flood Trump Tower’s lobby to demand Mahmoud Khalil’s release.

“Demonstrators from a Jewish group filled the lobby of Trump Tower on Thursday to denounce the immigration arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist who helped lead protests against Israel at Columbia University.

The demonstrators from Jewish Voice for Peace wore red shirts reading “Jews say stop arming Israel” and held up banners as they chanted “Bring Mahmoud home now!” on the lower level of the Fifth Avenue building’s public atrium.

(NYPD) police said they arrested 98 people on various charges, including trespassing, obstruction and resisting arrest,” reported Cedar Attanasio on the Associated Press on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

JUMMAH + RALLY AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

“MAHMOUD KHALIL WILL BE FREE! PALESTINE WILL BE FREE!

Friday (3/14/2025) Prayer at 12:30 PM | Rally to Follow.

Columbia University helped ICE kidnap Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil for speaking out against genocide. He was taken from his student housing and is now illegally detained in Louisiana—without charge.

Meanwhile, Palestinians are under attack everywhere. Gaza is being starved and bombed in silence. For the last two weeks, Israel has blocked food, water, and electricity. Dozens have been murdered in just the past few days. In the West Bank, settlers and soldiers are escalating home raids, killings, and mass arrests.

We will not stand by. Join us in demanding: ICE & NYPD OFF CAMPUS. DIVEST FROM GENOCIDE. FREE MAHMOUD & ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS. FREE PALESTINE—FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA!,” says Within Our Lifetime (wolpalestine.com) and other organizations on Instagram.

Charges of antisemitism an excuse for government to hurt Jews going to college.

“Remember that the primary motivation of the Trump administration is to aggregate power to itself while extracting retribution against anyone who questioned or might question Trump’s right to rule. Somehow, those reasons never get articulated. So naturally the educated classes are a target. The administration is flexing its muscles, for whatever reasons the public will buy. Seeing how far they can go.

This week ICE arrested Mahmoud Khalil, a valid green card holder, citing his leading pro-Palestinians protests at Columbia. The given reason was to combat antisemitism. The actual result is to begin acclimating the public to the idea of people being arrested for what they say. Label their speech antisemitisim — or treason, or dangerous — and snap on the cuffs. Legal residents now, American citizens later. It could be me next, for writing columns such as this one. Or you, for reading them,” says Neil Steinberg on chicago.suntimes.com.

Dominican-US ICE agent arrested Mahmoud Khalil

“Drop Site News reports the ICE agent who detained Khalil was (Dominican) Elvin Hernandez, who was honored by Trump during his State of the Union address in 2019, when Trump was first president,” reported Democracy Now!

“In 2019, Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Elvin Hernandez sat in the gallery watching the State of the Union address with First Lady Melania Trump. President Donald Trump celebrated Hernandez as a hero, praising the story of a boy from the Dominican Republic who went on to become an ICE agent and work on human trafficking cases. Hernandez stood and saluted as the president sang his praises,” writes Jason Paladino on www.dropsitenews.com.

Free Mahmoud Khalil. Support for Palestine is not a crime!

“When speaking out against genocide becomes a crime, when standing up for human rights leads to detention or deportation, we are no longer living in a democracy—we’re living under repression disguised as law.

What they are doing to Khalil is a test run. If they can silence Palestinians demanding justice, they can silence anyone who dares to challenge empire, apartheid, or injustice anywhere in the world,” says Mondoweiss on Facebook.

Zionist Israel is using starvation against Indigenous Palestinians in Gaza as a weapon of war. That’s a war crime.

The Democratic Party and the Republican Party in the United States of America support zionist, apartheid, genocide israel.
