October 24, 2025. Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City) – The “NATIONAL DAY OF PROTEST AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY” was on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. On the same day, New Yorkers protested against police brutality by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

People gathered at Marcus Garvey Park (Madison ave and E 124th street). After the rally, people marched to the office of Attorney General for the state of New York, Letitia “Tish” James, located at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building in Harlem (163 West 125th Street New York, NY 10027).
Family members who have lost loved ones to NYPD police killings and people who have faced police brutality from NYPD officers firsthand shared their stories in Marcus Garvey Park and in front of Leticia James’ office.
During the protest in the park, NYPD officers threatened to arrest protesters for using a megaphone. During the rally in front of Leticia’s office, NYPD officers also threatened to arrest protesters for using a megaphone. To avoid arrest, protesters had to stop using the megaphone.
Perhaps, NYPD police officers did not want people in New York City, in other cities and countries, to know about the murders and police brutality of NYPD officers.

NYPD killer cops have murdered hundreds of New Yorkers.
For decades, NYPD officers have been killing New Yorkers. According to the Stolen Lives Project, at least 414 people have been killed by NYPD officers since NYPD cops murdered Amadou Diallo in 1999.
These are some New Yorkers killed by NYPD killer cops:
Sean Bell
NYPD Paul Headley, Michael Carey, Marc Cooper, Gescard Isnora and Michael Oliver fired 50 rounds and killed Sean Bell (Bell’s friends, Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman, were severely wounded by the NYPD killer cops) on November 25, 2006. The murder of Sean Bell drew comparisons to the murder of Amadou Diallo by NYPD killer cops Sean Carroll, Richard Murphy, Edward McMellon, and Kenneth Boss on February 4, 1999. On April 25, 2008, all three of the killer cops indicted were acquitted on all counts. Taxpayers paid $7.15 million to Sean Bell’s family, Joseph Guzman, and Trent Benefield. Guzman said the settlement did not change the underlying reality that the lives of Black and Hispanic men were not worth much in New York and that the incident was bound to be repeated. “Aftershock: The Nicole P Bell Story,” a movie about the wrongful murder of Sean Bell, will be release in 2025. NYPD Salvatore Alongi and Matthew Cianfrocco shot and killed Win Rozario inside his home, on March 27, 2024, as his mother tried to protect him. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch will not fire killer cops Salvatore Alongi and Matthew Cianfrocco? Attorney General Letitia James (Democratic Party) still has not indicted Alongi and Cianfrocco. The boss of NYPD cops, NYC mayor Eric Adams (Democratic Party), has ignored multiple attempts by the family of Win Rozario to meet with him.
Mike Anthony Rosado
On August 29, 2021, an off-duty NYPD killer cop in plain clothes shot and murdered Mike Anthony Rosado, a 24-year-old man in the Bronx. “The racist police exist to protect property, terrorize communities of color, and uphold capitalism, not to keep communities safe,” Molly Rosenzweig writes on www.leftvoice.org.
