January 2, 2026 – Heba Muraisi on day 61 of her hunger strike. Teuta Hoxha on day 55 of her hunger strike. Kamran Ahmed on day 54 of his hunger strike. Lewie Chiaramello on day 40 of his hunger strike.
“Kamran Ahmed, Heba Muraisi, Teuta Hoxha and Lewie Chiaramello are still on hunger strike, despite Kamran being hospitalised for the third time since being on hunger strike. Heba Muraisi has stated she will not end her hunger strike unless she is moved back to HMP Bronzefield where she was initially held before being abruptly moved to HMP New Hall, miles away from her family and support system. Today, Teuta Hoxha was denied bail on compassionate grounds. Lewie Chiaramello continues to fast intermittently despite being type 1 diabetic, which is having an impact on his health in a critical way as he experiences confusion, dizziness, and weakness.
Alhough the number of hunger strikers have decreased, the hunger strikers have began legal proceedings against David Lammy, citing a violation of government policies on hunger striking as well as a lack of response to the hunger strikers, despite sending multiple letters to the Secretary of State.”_prisonersforpalestine.org December 23, 2025

These 8 hunger strikers are part of the Filton 24 — activists who have been imprisoned without trial for over a year for taking a stand against the UK’s role in manufacturing the weapons used to massacre Palestinian families in Gaza.
Their primary target has been Elbit Systems, the largest israeli weapons company, and to shut it down and kick it out of the UK.
The collective hunger strike was launched 43 days ago by Qesser Zuhrah and Amu Gib. Since then Heba Muraisi, Jon Cink, Tueta Hoxha, Kamran Ahmed, Lewie Chiaramello and Umer Khalid have joined. Their hunger strike is the largest strike in the UK in over 40 years. Five of the hunger strikers have already been hospitalized. Some are at risk of imminent death. All of them in critical condition.
From the UK to Palestine, from the Filton 24 to Marwan Barghouti to Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya to the 10,000 Palestinians in the occupation’s dungeons, the struggle of prisoners is a global struggle against zionism, imperialism and injustice.
We invite all NYC organizations and activists to join, and particularly call on the Irish community to honor the past sacrifices of the H Block hunger strikers with present and unwavering solidarity with the Filton 24.
