The first protest against the US INVASION of Venezuela and the KIDNAPPING of the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro and the first lady of Venezuela, Cilia Flores, was in Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City), on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

People gathered in Times Square. After the rally, New Yorkers marched to Lenape Circle (officially called Columbus Circle), where they ended the protest.

“I am innocent. I am not guilty. I am a decent man, the constitutional president of my country,” said the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on Monday January 5, 2026.

“I am here kidnapped since January 3. I was kidnapped at my home in Caracas,” added the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

Cilia Flores also pleaded not guilty. Flores said to the judge that she is the “first lady of the Republic of Venezuela,” had bandages on her forehead and right temple. Her lawyer, Mark Donnelly, said she suffered “significant injuries” when the US KIDNAPPED her from her home in Caracas on January 3, 2026.

On Monday, January 5, 2026, Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro and the first lady of Venezuela, Cilia Flores, appeared before the U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein, a 92-year-old jurist who was appointed to the federal bench in 1998 by Bill Clinton. It was their first court appearance on FALSE criminal charges since they were KIDNAPPED from Venezuela during a U.S. military operation in Caracas on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
