Since March 30, 1976, Palestinians have commemorated Land Day on March 30. March 30, 2026, marks the 50th anniversary of Land Day.

After the rally in front of the New York Public Library in Bryant Park, pro-Palestine, anti-GENOCIDE New Yorkers marched to Madison Square Park, where they ended the protest.

Anti-zionist Jews of the organization Neturei Karta International attended the rally and march.

Other anti-zionist Jews also participated in the annual “Land Day” protest.

Protesters also expressed their support for Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, Cuba, and Venezuela.

Some chants: “¡Viva, viva Palestina! ¡Lucha, lucha Palestina!” “From the belly of the beast: Hands off the Middle East!” “Biggest threat in the world today: Donald Trump and the USA.” “Biggest threat in the world today: Israel and the USA.” “Hands off Gaza!” “Hands off Iran!” “Hands off Lebanon!” “Hands off Cuba!” “Hands off Venezuela!” “Free, free Palestine!”

“New Yorkers are gathering at Bryant Park in remembrance of Land Day – a day of unity and action in the fight against Zionism and the struggle to return to our lands. As the US-Israeli war machine expands its war of annihilation into the broader region, we are also witnessing an acceleration of Zionist theft of land in Palestine. Today, we recommit to our duty as Palestinians, Arabs, and people of conscience in fighting against the Zionist project and for Palestinian liberation,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement on March 29, 2026.

The New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement added, “FREE THE PEOPLE, FREE THE LAND: New Yorkers are taking to the streets on Land Day to stand with the people of Palestine and the wider region, following a month of US and Zionist assault on our land that had claimed the lives of thousands of Lebanese, Iranians, Yemenis, and Palestinians.

Join us as we demand an end to US aid to Israel, a two-way arms embargo, and liberation of our land and our people from Zionist occupation and aggression.”

March 29, 2026, marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Margarita Eustaquia Maza Parada.

Margarita was a Mexican revolutionary and the wife of former Mexican President Benito Pablo Juárez García.

Former First Lady of Mexico Margarita Maza lived in Manhattan, New York City, from 1864 to 1867—while France was invading Mexico—and became the public face of the Mexican resistance abroad.

A monument to former Mexican President Benito Juárez stands in Bryant Park.

If Margarita Maza and Benito Juárez were alive today, they would surely support the Palestinian resistance.

On March 30, 2026, the State of Palestine to the Mission to the United Nations said, “Today, Palestinians commemorate the 50th anniversary of Land Day. A day of resistance against Israel’s colonization, land theft, dispossession, displacement, and ongoing Nakba.

Land is central to our collective identity, being, and survival as a nation. The land that we nourished with our hands for centuries holds the memories of our ancestors, the sorrows of our elders, and the future of our children.

Everyday is a Land Day in Palestine.”

On March 30, 2026, the BDS movement said, “As we mark the 50th anniversary of Land Day, we honor the six Palestinians murdered by Israeli forces on 30 March 1976, (all “citizens”) as they took part in nonviolent protests against the relentless settler-colonial theft of their land. We also honor the many other Palestinians killed since then as Israel’s occupation forces and settlers expand efforts at illegal annexation of Indigenous Palestinian land. Today, as Israel’s genocide continues in Gaza and apartheid deepens across Palestine, we reaffirm – with renewed determination and hope – our commitment to our ancestral lands and the right of return and reparations for all refugees.” Click here to read their full statement.

On March 30, 2026, PAL-Awda NY said, “Today is the 50th anniversary of Land Day, Yawm al-Ard, marking the 1976 uprising against Israeli land theft. As state and city officials in New York shamelessly attempt to shield the ongoing theft of Palestinian land facilitated through real estate and settler events in our neighborhoods, we recommit to honoring the steadfast struggle of the Palestinian people and fighting for Awda, the right of all Palestinian people to return to their lands.”

“On this day 50 years ago, Israel announced plans to seize over 20,000 dunams of land in the Galilee region. In response, Palestinians in the area organized a general strike, and mass demonstrations spread throughout occupied Palestine. The collective political action was the first taken by Palestinians within 1948 Palestine since the Nakba itself. Henceforth, March 30 came to be known as Land Day.

The Palestinian struggle is, above all, a struggle to liberate land, and in so doing, to liberate the people who the land knows to be its own. This Land Day, as the Zionist entity attacks and desecrates land from Palestine and Lebanon to Yemen and Iran, the Palestinian people and the people of the region affirm the sanctity of our land, and the inherent right of our people to defend our land against Zionist and imperialist aggression.

May the walls that have kept us apart soon be torn down. May the trains that once ran from Haifa to Saida, and from Beirut to Baghdad, run again. From Beirut to Jerusalem, from Tehran to San’aa, we are this land, and this land is ours,” said the Britain Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement on March 30, 2026.

On March 30, 2026, Palestinian Abubaker Abed said, “On Palestine’s Land Day and the 8th anniversary of our Return Marches, a law has been approved to execute our Palestinians decaying in Israeli dungeons. What more should Palestinians endure? I am gutted beyond words. We are no longer humans.”

Abubaker Abed added, “I will never understand this horror in my life. I know people who will be executed; some are women my age. Some are literally my neighbours. Many are from Gaza.

I can’t even take this too much trauma and guilt. How would I react to seeing their necks roped and their bodies…?”

“NYC4PCC Palestine Land Day ride as part of the global great ride of return, Sunday, March 29, 2026. The global great ride of return raises awareness for the Great March of Return, a more-than-a-year-long series of peaceful demonstrations by families in Gaza in 2018 and 2019 during which Palestinians demanded an end to “Israel’s” obstruction of their right to return to the homes it stole from them and lands from which it expelled them beginning around 1948.

So-called Israel is a manufactured, European, Jewish supremacist, settler colonial state violently superimposed by western superpowers on Palestine and the broader Arab region in 1948.

“Israel’s” short existence is the result of killing or expelling Palestinians and stealing their belongings, houses, and land. David Ben-Gurion, a polish Jew who would become “Israel’s” first prime minister said in 1937, 11 years before “Israel’s” creation, “we must expel Arabs and take their places.”

Palestinians have resisted western superpowers and their Zionist project to steal Palestine for over a century nonstop.

Land Day, observed annually on March 30, commemorates just one of countless acts of Palestinian resistance like the Great March of Return. #gazasunbirds #justiceforpalestine,” said NYCforPalestineCyclingClub on March 31, 2026.

For the 50th anniversary of Land Day, the terrorist, zionist, apartheid state of Israel has STOLEN the majority of Palestinian lands. Palestinians continue to face the illegal expansion of zionist Jewish settlements, the theft of their lands, and restrictions on access to their territories.

“For the last 50 years, Palestinians have commemorated Land Day as a promise to remain in, struggle for, and return to our lands in Palestine. It is a day of unity and action in the fight for liberation from Zionist subjugation, and a promise to be unrelenting in our efforts to free every inch of our land.

This year, the U.S. and Israel continue to wage a war of annihilation against our people in Palestine and across the region. In Gaza, an ongoing genocide of siege and destruction continues, with the accelerated efforts to usurp Palestinian land and expel the residents who have nourished it for generations. In the West Bank, settler expansion and attacks are at an all time high, with more land grabs, expulsions, and arrest campaigns happening on the daily. In Lebanon and Iran, a war is being waged in the name of Zionism and U.S. imperialism as an extension of the genocide in Gaza, and as punishment for daring to resist Israeli terror in the region.

Our duty to stand with Palestine is as urgent as ever. Join us in the streets in New York City to assert our right to resist, to remain, and to return to our homelands, to live free and dignified.

Until liberation and return, see you in the streets,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement on March 8, 2026.
