People gathered in Times Square. After the rally, pro-PEACE, anti-GENOCIDE, anti-WAR New Yorkers marched to Lenape Circle (officially called Columbus Circle), where they ended the protest.

In addition to expressing their support for Iran, they also expressed their support for Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, Cuba, and Venezuela.

“We are gathered in the streets of New York following the accelerated American-Zionist aggressions on Iran and Lebanon. A little more than 24 hours ago, Donald Trump warned of a looming genocidal retaliation, threatening that “a civilization will die tonight.”

After seemingly agreeing to negotiate a 2-week ceasefire, the Israeli military—using U.S supplied bombs—went on it’s largest series of raids since the second phase of the war began. More than 100 bombs were dropped in 10 minutes across all parts of Lebanon. Hundreds of people were martyred and thousands are wounded and remain under the rubble. Since then, the White House has publicly announced that it’s purported ceasefire would not include Lebanon, attempting to reverse course in a pattern that has become very predictable over the last three years.

We have taken the streets because we understand that the United States cannot be trusted and that a ceasefire that does not include Lebanon is nothing more than a ruse. The freedom and safety of our people falls entirely into our hands, we will not be fooled into pacification, our focus remains on obtaining first a total, comprehensive ceasefire, and second, to ensuring the complete end of the Israeli occupation,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement during the protest on April 8, 2026.

“Protesters in Times Square rally, demanding Hands Off Iran, Stop Bombing Lebanon Now, and an end to the U.S.-Israel genocidal campaign in the region,” said The People’s Forum during the protest on April 8, 2026.

The People’s Forum added, “Do we want war? NO! We say hands off Iran, stop bombing Lebanon, end the genocide in Palestine in 60+ cities in the U.S. today. We demand money for healthcare, childcare, and housing—no more money for genocidal wars led by the war criminals in the White House!”

“As Israeli raids continue across South Lebanon and Beirut, we have taken the streets in protest. We refuse to allow the Lebanese people to be pawns for negotiation or to be set aside in any talks of a ceasefire. After hundreds were martyred and thousands more wounded, we demand not just the cessation of hostilities, but the total removal of any Israeli military presence from the Lebanese land. We will not turn our back as our lands are obliterated, we will continue, for as long as it may take, to ensure the sovereignty and freedom of our people,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement during the march on April 8, 2026.

“New Yorkers take Times Square to refuse the U.S. and Israel’s genocidal war on Iran and Lebanon. We are joining dozens of cities across the country in this national day of action to demand a stop to Trump’s spiraling bombing campaign — not just for two weeks, but PERMANENTLY!” said the New York City branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation on April 8, 2026.

“New Yorkers take to the streets to say HANDS OFF THE MIDDLE EAST! NO WAR ON IRAN, LEBANON, PALESTINE!” said the New York City branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation during the march on April 8, 2026.

The People’s Forum also said, “The Trump administration and Israel, despite the ceasefire agreement with Iran, have made it clear that they have no regard for human life and are willing to ruthlessly bomb Iran, Lebanon, and the entire region. We demand: hands off the Middle East. Stop the bombing. Stop the killing!”

“NYC has taken the streets to say STOP THE WAR ON IRAN FOR GOOD! STOP BOMBING LEBANON! END THE GENOCIDE IN GAZA! 60+ cities around the country are rising up against the war criminals in the White House,” The People’s Forum added on April 8, 2026.

“Today, New Yorkers took to the streets in rage and defiance after the U.S. and Israel murdered hundreds of people in Lebanon in an intense series of airstrikes across the country. We reject the U.S. – Israeli@terror campaign on our region, from Gaza to Tehran to Saida, and will organizing and mobilizing until our people are able to live freely on their lands,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement after the protest on April 8, 2026.

“Earlier this morning, Israel unleashed a wave of terror on the people of Lebanon, striking hundreds of residential neighborhoods all over the country, injuring and martyring more than 500 people in just 10 minutes.

These attacks come right after the announcement of a preliminary ceasefire to the US and Israel’s illegal genocidal war on Iran and the region which has left thousands martyred and over 1 million Lebanese displaced.

Israel cannot be reigned in. It is a rogue terrorist state that will undermine every ceasefire until an arms embargo is reached and until Palestine and the entire region is free.

But the war against the Iranian people needs to end permanently, not just for two weeks!

The details of the ceasefire are still emerging, but Trump is still suggesting he could go back to bombing if he wants. Unless sanctions are lifted and US forces return home, the conditions for war remain. Trump has needlessly killed thousands in his war of choice, caused economic suffering the world over, and he must be held accountable.

“This morning the war criminal Donald Trump issued a genocidal threat against Iran on social media, writing, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” This alone qualifies as a crime against humanity.

In response, the Iranian masses have formed human chains to defend and protect bridges, power plants and other critical infrastructure.
