People gathered in Union Square. After the rally, New Yorkers marched to Washington Square Park where they joined other organizations. After the rally in Washington Square Park, they marched to Foley Square, where they ended the protest.
Some of the organizations were The People’s Forum, Palestinian Youth Movement, Party for Socialism and Liberation, etc.
“Workers, students, and everyday people have taken to the streets for International Workers’ Day, May Day in a powerful show of collective action is to push back against the Trump administration, demanding dignity, and saying no to war, no to ICE, and no to billionaire control,” said The People’s Forum on May 1, 2026.
The People’s Forum added, “RIGHT NOW IN NYC! People have walked out of school and work in celebration of International Workers’ Day—showing that when people come together, they can challenge injustice, stand up for workers, and demand a future without war, ICE, or extreme wealth inequality.”
“HAPPENING NOW—Working New Yorkers gather at Union Square to express collective power and fight back against Trump’s imperialist wars, the attacks against immigrants, and the billionaire agenda. When we fight, we win!” said The New York City branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation on May 1, 2026.
The Party for Socialism and Liberation added, “RIGHT NOW — WORKERS MARCHING FOR MAY DAY CONVERGE WITH STUDENTS AND FACULTY STRIKING AT THE NEW SCHOOL IN NYC.”
“Right now in New York City today, we’re in streets for International Workers’ Day, joining millions nationwide in a unified call for dignity, justice, and peace. Standing against war, demanding an end to ICE enforcement that tears families apart, rejecting exploitation from billionaires, and pushing back against ongoing attacks from the Trump administration. The message echoes far beyond one city or one country, this is about international solidarity, about workers everywhere standing together across borders to demand fair treatment, human rights, and a future rooted in people-first programs rather than oppression & exploitation,” said The People’s Forum on Instagram on May 1, 2026. The People’s Forum added, “New Yorkers are in the streets in full force commemorating International Workers Day and demanding no wars, no ICE, and no billionaires!”
“On International Workers’ Day, millions around the world will take the streets. In New York, we’re joining cities and towns across the U.S. to stand together — against war, against deportations, and against Trump’s billionaire agenda stealing our future.
No School. No Work. No Shopping.
We will march to join more demonstrators at 4pm in Washington Square Park! See you in the streets,” said The People’s Forum before the protest.
