“From our bombazos to our parades, we condemn the police raids! End the Attacks on Our People and Our Culture! Join our contingent for the Knickerbocker Parade in condemning the brutalization of our community by the 83rd Precinct during PR Day celebrations last year!” said Adolfina Brooklyn before the parade.

“Today, we commemorate the 1st anniversary of the violent attack of our peaceful bombazo at the hands of the NYPD’s 83rd Precinct outside of Mood Ring that resulted in physical, psychological and financial pain, multiple community members needing to seek medical attention and the false arrests and trumped-up charges of several, including a beloved member of Adolfina (all charges of which have since been dropped). Our calls for justice remain and we will not be silenced, said Adolfina Brooklyn on June 8, 2026.

On June 14, 2026, Brooklyn Against War shared pictures and videos on Instagram and said, “Brooklyn Against War was honored to march alongside Adolfina in the Puerto Rican Day Parade (June 14th) celebrating Puerto Rican culture, resistance, and the ongoing struggle for liberation and self-determination.

Our solidarity with Adolfina extends beyond the parade. One year ago, the NYPD violently raided their post-parade bomba celebration in Bushwick and arrested one of their members. We marched against repression, supported community defense efforts, and shared experiences defending activists facing political charges.

The march was a powerful expression of unity, resilience, and the enduring fight for justice. It reminded us that our cultures, our communities, and our movements cannot be silenced.

Puerto Rican liberation is not just about remembering history; it’s about building a future free from colonialism, repression, and injustice.

Que viva Puerto Rico libre! From Brooklyn to Borikén, the struggle continues.
