Occupied Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City). – On Wednesday, August 25, 2026, terrorist Israel Occupation Forces (IOF) soldiers were at the gate of Columbia University and on Thursday, August 26, 2026, terrorist IOF soldiers were at the gate of the City University of New York (CUNY).

The events drew criticism from pro-Palestine, anti-genocide, anti-war students and other New Yorkers, who questioned Columbia University and CUNY’s decision to allow terrorist IOF soldiers who had committed genocide in the Gaza, Palestine, to promote their hasbara (propaganda) on campus.

Students renewed demands for Columbia University to disclose its financial ties and divest from companies linked to the zionist, apartheid, terrorist state of Israel.

In 2024, Columbia University and CUNY asked former New York City mayor, zionist, corrupt Eric Adams to send New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers to arrest hundreds of peaceful pro-Palestine, anti-genocide, anti-war students.

Israel Occupation Forces (IOF) is a term used by Palestinians, human rights organizations and Palestinian advocates to refer to the military personnel of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The term IOF seeks to emphasize the role of the zionist army in the occupied Palestinian territories.

“Today, Israeli occupation forces are at the gate of Columbia University’s campus. The IOF soldiers set up a table saying, “We’ve been in Gaza. Ask us anything!”

After committing massacres, torture, rape, and forced starvation of Palestinians in Gaza, Zionists are being granted the right to set up shop at the entrance to Columbia’s campus in order to intimidate, harass, and incite violence against Palestinian students and the Palestine movement on campus.

The Columbia administration, through its endowment, remains complicit in the blood of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. After violently dismantling the Hind’s Hall encampment in 2024 and ignoring warnings that led to Mahmoud Khalil’s abduction by ICE on its own property, Columbia continues to demonstrate its support for the Zionist occupation and its crimes.

There is no debating Zionism. Genocidal war criminals should not be welcome anywhere. We condemn Columbia’s continued complicity, and we renew calls for disclosure and divestment of Columbia’s endowment from Israel,” said the New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement on August 25, 2026.

“Yesterday, Israeli occupation forces were at the gates of Columbia University’s campus. Today, they are at the gates of CUNY Law, with a table saying, “We’ve been in Gaza. Ask us anything.”

For nearly three years, Israel has waged a genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza, killing tens of thousands, destroying homes, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure, and inflicting mass starvation and displacement. And now, those who participated in that violence feel comfortable tabling outside our campuses, where students have spent years organizing against it.

This comes on the heels of our disclosure news. This is a beast lashing out when it knows it is crumbling. For years, CUNY students have fought for disclosure and divestment, only to face repression and violence from the NYPD and CUNY Public Safety. Meanwhile, those who participate in and facilitate the violence against Palestinians can sit peacefully outside our campuses and speak openly about their participation in war crimes.

They come to our campuses to sanitize the violence they participated in and to intimidate a movement that has remained steadfast and refuses to disappear. We commend our community members who confronted the agitators today, genocidal terrorists are not owed peace and we will not give them peace Do not let them bring their propaganda to our campuses. Bring signs, flyers, and information about the reality of the violence in Gaza. Challenge their attempts to present participation in genocide as something to be casually discussed.

We will continue to organize. We will continue to demand divestment. We will not stop until Palestine is completely liberated, from the river to the sea,” said CUNY Law Dispatch on August 26, 2026.
