The celebration honoring NYC’s Indigenous roots is returning to Brooklyn. The Third Annual United Lunáapeew/Lenape Nations Pow Wow brings Native American dancers, drummers, food, vendors and more.

The Lunáapeew Nations Pow Wow will be on Saturday from 10 AM. to 7 PM. and on Sunday from 10 AM. to 4 PM.

The free, two-day public event, welcomes Indigenous Lenape people, the original inhabitants of New York City, who were forced by White Europeans, the Democratic Party, Andrew Jackson, Martin Van Buren (the two founders of the Democratic Party), etc. to relocate to other places, back to their ancestral homelands to reunite and share their culture with us.

The Pow Wow is presented by the Éenda-Lunaapeewáhkiing Collective, the American Indian Community House and the Prospect Park Alliance.

“August 20, 2026 – Njóosak (friends), New York City is one of the greatest destination cities in the world. NYC is the homeland of the the Lunáapeew/Lenape people. This October 3 and 4 the Lunáapeew/Lenape are going to be sharing their vibrant culture, song, dance, and food with the diverse people of this great city. The United Lunáapeew/Lenape Nations Powwow will be held at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. This beautiful NYC landmark will be host to this homecoming and vibrant showcase of their rich culture.

This 3?? annual powwow will focus on Lunáapeew/Lenape youth from across the continent. Two young Lunáapeew/Lenape young adults have been hired as coordinators of this event, all the while being mentored by their older relatives to help develop their leadership skills ensuring that our future generations continue to thrive and carry our rich culture into the future.

This year, the ELCollective needs your help to reach our budget goal of $150,000. We are close, but, we need that extra help to reach the finish line. Your donation will go toward:

• Prizes for phenomenal dance specials
• Feeding our singers and dancers
• Showcasing our young dancers
• Travel and lodging for Lunáapeew/Lenape representatives.
