Despite the freezing temperatures, New Yorkers held a rally and march in Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City) on January 20, 2026. Supporters of migrants gathered in Bryant Park. After the rally, they marched through various streets of Manhattan.

One of the speakers at the rally was Karina García, a Chicana and former candidate for Vice President of the United States, representing the Party for Socialism and Liberation in 2024. Their website is pslweb.org.

Another person who spoke at the rally was Andre Easton. Andre is a candidate for the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 15th Congressional District, which is located in the Bronx. For more information, visit his website www.andreforthebronx.nyc.

Some of the organizations that participated were The People’s Forum, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and the Palestinian Youth Movement.

Some of the slogans were: “Biggest threat in the world today: Donald Trump and the USA,” “ICE out of New York. ICE out of everywhere,” “Chinga la migra” (“Fuck ICE”), etc.

From January 20, 2025, to January 20, 2026, at least 43 people have died in connection with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). 35 people died in ICE custody or in connection with ICE from January 20, 2025, to December 31, 2025. At least 6 people died in ICE custody in just the first 20 days of 2026. Killed by ICE or died by suicide or medical neglect. ICE KILLS! Click here to see the list of people who died because of ICE during the first year of the Trump and Vance administration.

In 2002, Republican and Democrat politicians in the United States Congress voted in favor of creating the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. We have the ICE thanks to both the Republican Party and Democrat Party. Republicans and Democrats created the deportation machine. Republicans and Democrats are responsible for the atrocities committed by ICE agents. Democrats and Republicans are responsible for the migrant deaths related to ICE.
