Saturday, March 21, 2026. Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City) – The 5th Annual Welcome to Spring Pow Wow with the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers (Preserving Culture & Traditions of American Indian People) in Manhattan, New York City, will be on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

“The Thunderbird American Indian Dancers will be holding an indoor Welcome-to-Spring Pow Wow Sunday, March 22 2025, from 1:30 PM to 4 PM. The Pow Wow will be in the South Hall of the Riverside Church, at 490 Riverside Drive. (This is off West 120th Street, 1 block west of Broadway),” says Thunderbird American Indian Dancers.
They add, “Everyone is welcome to attend, and everyone in regalia is invited to dance. (There will also be some audience participation dances for those not in regalia.) There is no admission charge (though donations will be accepted).
In addition to pow wow dancing, there will be special dance presentations by the Thunderbirds. There will also be an American Indian Crafts Market, with a wide selection of items on sale.”
Thunderbird American Indian Dancers adds, “This is a traditional indoor pow wow, complete with live singing and drumming. The pow wow is primarily a social event with a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Find beautiful handmade Native American items from select indigenous artisans; dance regalia and accessories, art works, instruments, foods. The dancing is the heart of the pow wow, and it is a great opportunity to participate in or watch this beautiful piece of Native American culture. Workshop participants join your families in the social dances and songs you have learned from our workshops!”
Special Presentations featuring Ciaran Tufford ( Mayan/Cherokee/Cree/Pawnee) and Isabelle Cespedes ( Mayan/Cherokee/Cree/Pawnee) and Award winning prima ballerina, Native Hoop Dance: Marie Poncé (Taino-Arawak/Cherokee-Tuscarora) Michael A Taylor (Choctaw), Director Louis Mofsie (Winneabego/Hopi), Carlos Poncé (Maya).
