Palestinian Prisoners Day, observed annually on April 17, is a national day of commemoration dedicated to the thousands and thousands of Palestinian HOSTAGES held in zionist concentration camps and a call for their freedom and rights.
Palestinian Prisoners Day was approved by the Palestinian National Council in 1974, the date marks the first prisoner exchange between Palestinians and the zionist, apartheid, terrorist entity (Israel), which saw the release of Mahmoud Bakr Hijazi.
On March 30, 2026, executing Palestinian HOSTAGES (prisoners) became official policy in the terrorist state of Israel.

“Join the Global Day of Action to Defend Our Prisoners and Resist the Executions.
Our prisoners are the compass of our struggle, and the key to the liberation of Palestine.
Over 10,000 of our prisoners are held by the zionist entity, subjected to systematic starvation, brutal assault, and relentless torture.
Since October 7, their conditions have drastically worsened, with at least 89 Palestinian prisoners ascending to martyrdom. The situation will only further escalate following the passage of the law authorizing the execution of prisoners.
Join us in taking to the streets to demand an end to the ongoing aggression against all our people—from Gaza to Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq—and the liberation of every single prisoner in the dungeons of the zionist entity.

Palestinian Prisoners Day
Saturday, April 18, 2026. 2 PM.
Times Square
Manhattan, New York City.
“There are over 10,000 Palestinian prisoners currently being held in Israeli torture prisons , including over 400 children. All are held under the military court system, run exclusively by IOF ( Israeli Occupation Forces) soldiers, with a staggering 96% conviction rate. According to several human rights organizations, torture, rape, starvation, and dehumanization are systemic and rampant throughout. The conditions in these Israeli torture camps is well documented and has been ongoing since the zionist occupation in 1948. Over 100 Palestinian prisoners have died in custody within the last 2 years.
On March 30, 2026, executing Palestinian (and only Palestinian) prisoners became official policy in Israel. Execution by hanging is the sentence, and once convicted as a “terrorist”, it must be carried out within 90 days, with no possibility of appeal or pardon. This is yet another example of Israel’s murderous and genocidal depravity.
Join us on Saturday, April 18th, Palestinian Prisoners Day, to demand the immediate release of ALL Palestinian prisoners and an end to the new draconian Israeli execution law.”_Palestinian Assembly for Liberation [PAL]-Awda LI Chapter.
NYC: PALESTINIAN PRISONERS’ DAY MARCH
Saturday, April 18, 2026. 4:30 PM.
Herald Square
Manhattan, New York City.
“Since 1974, Palestinians have chosen April 17th to commemorate our prisoners and their struggle. Our prisoners are the compass of our movement. On Prisoners Day, we march to honor those enduring the cruelty of the colonial Zionist entity, whose tireless courage and steadfastness remind us that Zionist prisons cannot contain the fight for their freedom or the national liberation of Palestine.
More than a week ago, on March 30, the Israeli Knesset passed the “Prisoner Execution Law,” legalizing death by hanging, a measure that, in practice, would target only Palestinians. This bill comes amid the settler-colonial Zionist entity’s ongoing efforts to dispossess Palestinians from their land and escalate their barbaric assaults, from the genocide in Gaza to the relentless attacks on our prisoners.
Routinely, Palestinian prisoners in Zionist dungeons confront systematic abuse, including torture, starvation, and medical neglect. Thousands are held under administrative detention without charge or trial. These dungeons are sites of dehumanization, where the occupier seeks to break the will of the people and erase resistance through fear and punishment.
It is our duty to stand with our prisoners! Join us in the streets in New York City to assert the right for our prisoners to live free and dignified.
May every prisoner be free and may the Zionist jails crumble.”_New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement.
