May 15, 2026 marks the 78th anniversary of the Nakba (“catastrophe”), commemorating the (May 15) 1948 displacement of Palestinians during Israel’s invention. Commemorations focus on the “ongoing Nakba,” highlighting 78 years of displacement, occupation, and the demand for the right of return.

People gathered in Washington Square Park. After the rally, people marched to Union Square, corner of Madison Square Park, Herald Square, Bryant Park (they passed in front of the monument to former Mexican president Benito Pablo Juárez García), outside Grand Central Terminal, protesters marched thru the elevated Park Avenue Viaduct that wraps around Grand Central Terminal, Times Square, where Muslims prayed, before they ended the protest.

“On Nakba Day we join Palestinians around the world in uplifting our people’s resistance to genocide, zionism and settler colonialism since 1948. The Nakba, commemorated on May 15th of every year is ongoing to this day, as millions of Palestinians continue to be starved in Gaza, while thousands more are massacred and displaced from Gaza to the West Bank in “israel’s” ongoing genocide funded and carried out with the United States,” said Within Our Lifetime on May 15, 2026.

Nerdeen Kiswani, chair of Within Our Lifetime, spoke at the WOL Nakba Day protest in Washington Square Park.

“The Nakba lives in every bombing campaign … but the struggle also continues to live with every resistance fighter, with every Palestinian mother who continues to bear children,” part of what she said. I will share the full video soon.

I interviewed rabbi Dovid Feldman, a member of the organization Neturei Karta International. I will share the video soon.

Amazon labor organizer Chris Smalls marched with hundreds of peaceful pro-Palestine, anti-genocide New Yorkers (Chris Smalls joined the Global Sumud Flotilla in 2025. Zionists arrested him and other allies of Palestinians in International waters. Activists tried to bring aid to Gaza. NYPD officers arrested Chris Smalls during the Met Gala in NYC in 2006).

Protestors demand the freedom of Doctor Hussam Abu Safiya, kidnapped by Israel in 2024. According to UN experts, zionists have been torturing Dr. Abu Safiya.

On May 18, 2026, The Palestine News Network shared a video and said, “The egg-hurling maniac who pelted pro-Palestinian marchers from his balcony has been identified as Joel Tractenberg @joeltrac of The Sheridan at 40 East 9th street. The property management company is Hoffman Management (info@hoffmgt.com 212-247-4975) His company is Levinson Tractenberg Group (contact@itgny.com 917-882-0732.) Please tag @ginnysaidso @thatdaneshguy and let the @nypd and @nycmayor know that this behavior must be prosecuted.” The Palestine News Network added, “Plz disregard the twitter handle @joeltrac (all other info is correct).”

On May 18, 2026, Nerdeen Kiswani said, “Another Zionist attack on a Within Our Lifetime protest in Manhattan. Another complete lack of accountability.”

Nerdeen Kiswani added, “During our Nakba protest on May 15, 2026, Joel Trachtenberg threw eggs at protesters from above. This follows years of Zionist attacks targeting WOL demonstrations, including the April 7, 2025 assault where bleach, rocks, feces, and other hazardous materials were thrown at protesters from a Manhattan luxury high rise while the NYPD stood by and protected the attackers instead of arresting them.”

Demonstrators passed in front of the monument to former Mexican president, Benito Pablo Juárez García, located in Bryant Park.

During the march and while Muslims were praying, some protestors and some organizers didn’t want some journalists to film and take pictures.

Apparently, zionist journalists were harassing pro-Palestine, anti-genocide New Yorkers commemorating the Nakba 78 in Manhattan, on May 15, 2026.

How many zionist journalists working for the New York Post, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CNN, NBC, CBS, New York Daily News, etc., have NYC press credentials?

Luis Documents,” a journalist shared a video of a female journalist and two male journalists. The woman was trying to interview a protestor. Supposedly, two of the journalists work for Fox News. Journalist Talia Ben-Ora said that Nino, another journalist, works for republican John Catsimatidis.

Israel has killed hundreds of journalists in Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon and Iran.

New York City mayor, Zohran Kwame Mamdani, commemorated the Nakba 78. Zohran is the first NYC mayor to ever do so!

Zohran Mamdani shared a video on social media and said, “Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.

Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.”

Zionists, islamophobes, nazis, racists, xenophobics, white supremacists, pro-ICE, supporters of the zionist, apartheid, terrorist entity, supporters of the Israel-USA HOLOCAUST against Indigenous Palestinians, supporters of zionists rapping Indigenous Palestinians are angry because New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani commemorated Nakba Day. Supposedly, these people will protest outside Gracie Mansion, the public house where Zohran Mamdani and Rama Sawaf Duwaji, his wife, live in Manhattan.

196 years of the terrorist “Indian Removal Act”

In the United States of America, May 28, 2026, marks 196 years since Andrew Jackson signed the “Indian Removal Act.”

Michael Coard wrote: “Trail of Tears: White America’s ‘Indian’ Holocaust.”

“…on May 28, 1830, the “Trail of Tears” began when President Andrew Jackson signed Senate Bill 102, i.e., the Indian Removal Act (IRA). That legislation forced primarily five Southeastern indigenous nations, including the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole, as well as the Fox, Kickapoo, Lenape, Miami, Omaha, Ottawa, Potawatomie, Sauk, Shawnee, and Wyandot (along with a few other smaller ones), to trek up to 2,200 miles- on foot!- from as far as Florida to what’s now known as Oklahoma where the government’s newly created so-called Indian Territory was established,” wrote Michael Coard on May 27, 2017.

The imperialist, zionist, corrupt, terrorist Democratic Party was founded on January 8, 1828, by terrorists, white supremacists, slave owners, war criminals Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren.

The Democratic Party and the Republican Party in the US have always supported the zionist, apartheid, terrorist entity.

History does repeat itself. If the world pays attention we will wake up in time to stop zionists. Never forget.

“78 years of Nakba.
78 years of genocide.
78 years of resistance.

On Nakba Day, we join Palestinians worldwide in honoring our people’s resistance to the zionist entity and its settler colonial project. From 1948 to today, the Nakba has never ended. It continues through genocide in Gaza, attacks in the West Bank, and repression across Palestine.

What we are witnessing is not new, it is the same settler colonial violence carried out by the zionist entity and backed by the US. As Nerdeen Kiswani said: “Palestine is not an anomaly, it is a litmus test, a moral compass, and what is allowed to happen in Gaza will not stop there.”

Tomorrow we flood NYC to demand an end to the siege, blockade, and genocide. No business as usual while our people are massacred.

We won’t stop until Palestine is free within our lifetime,” said Within Our Lifetime on X on May 14, 2026.

“78 years of Nakba. 78 years of genocide. 78 years of resistance.

On Nakba Day we join Palestinians around the world in uplifting our people’s resistance to genocide, zionism and settler colonialism since 1948. The Nakba, commemorated on May 15th of every year is ongoing to this day, as millions of Palestinians continue to be starved in Gaza, while thousands more are massacred and displaced from Gaza to the West Bank in “israel’s” ongoing genocide funded and carried out with the United States.

“Everything happening in Gaza today is not new. It has been happening since 1948, now on a larger scale for the world to see. Proof was never the problem, because we know this is how colonization operates. This is what they do to indigenous people. Palestine is not an anomaly, it is a litmus test, a moral compass, and what is allowed to happen in Gaza will not stop there.”_ Nerdeen Kiswani (WOL’s chair & founder)

It is right here, in our own backyard, that this genocide is funded and made possible, and it is up to us to continue mobilizing against the ongoing Nakba until there is a complete end to the genocide.

Join us as we flood the streets of New York, amplifying the voices of our people and refusing to stay silent, demanding an end to the siege and blockade of Gaza and an end to the ongoing genocide, until Palestine is free within our lifetime,” said Within Our Lifetime on April 29, 2026.
