Despite the temperature feeling like 105 degrees Fahrenheit, New Yorkers demonstrated in support of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastian Guerrero, and against ICE.

Representatives from various organizations spoke in support of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Joan Sebastian Guerrero. They demanded to abolish the ICE agency.

They also expressed their support for the approximately 10,000 Palestinians held hostage by Israel in zionist concentration camps.

Israel, with the support of the Democratic Party and Republican Party in the U.S., is committing genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine and Lebanon.

They expressed their support for Cuba. For more than 64 years, Democrat and republican politicians in the U.S. have attacked the country with a genocidal, criminal, terrorist blockade.

The rally took place at Foley Square. Participants marched around the immigration building (26 Federal Plaza) and returned to Foley Square, where the protest concluded.

“Right now, New Yorkers are taking to the streets in solidarity with people in Texas, Maine, and communities across the country rising up against ICE terror. Together, we’re demanding justice for Lorenzo & Joan!” said The People’s Forum on X on July 14, 2026.

The People’s Forum added, “Tonight, in NYC, we came out into the streets to defend immigrant communities and stand with people across the country resisting ICE terror. From Texas to Maine, our struggles are connected. We marched demanding justice for Lorenzo & Joan and an end to the attacks on immigrant families

Some activists on social media said Timothy Donahue is the ICE agent who murdered Joan Sebastian Durán Guerrero. In 2025, Timothy Donahue shot a woman 5 times in Chicago.

Some activists said the (Nazi?) ICE agent that murdered Joan Sebastian Guerrero is David Brouilette.

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the Portland Press Herald reported, “The federal immigration agent who shot and killed a 26-year-old Colombian man in Biddeford has been identified as David Michael Brouillette.

Brouillette, who is 37 and lives in Manchester, was identified by an ex-wife as the ICE agent who shot Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero.” Read more on www.pressherald.com.

“The entire country must rise up to stop ICE’s killing spree. On July 7, ICE agents murdered Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston. Today ICE murdered Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine.

These deaths are not accidental — they are the direct result of the Trump administration’s war on working-class immigrant communities, a war which is now demanding agents arrest 2,000 people per day.

After the people of Minnesota organized strikes and shutdowns to drive out Operation Metro Surge, ICE tried for several months to “stay out of the headlines.” But ICE’s overall aggressive and violent approach has continued with new tactics, and now a massive budget. Every Congressperson who has voted for ICE funding is responsible for these crimes. ICE may have pulled the trigger but they handed them the guns.
