“NO MORE KILLER COPS! SEE YOU IN THE STREETS!
The NYPD shot another person in crisis early on Friday morning, the second fatal shooting in under a week. We must not allow the NYPD to get away with murder,” said New York Alliance on September 4, 2026.
On Friday, September 4, 2026, New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers shot and murdered a man on crisis on the Brooklyn Bridge. On Monday, August 31, 2026, NYPD officers shot and killed Pamela Cisneros in Times Square.
SOME NYPD KILLER COPS
Thomas Gilligan: An off-duty lieutenant who shot and killed 15-year-old James Powell in Harlem in 1964. A grand jury declined to indict Gilligan, and the incident sparked the historic 1964 Harlem riot.
Thomas Shea: Officer Shea shot and killed 10-year-old Clifford Glover in Queens in 1973. Shea claimed he thought Glover had a gun, but no weapon was found. Shea was acquitted of murder charges.
Louis Eppolito and Stephen Caracappa: Known infamously as the “Mob Cops,” these former NYPD detectives used their positions in the 1980s and early 1990s to pass information to the Lucchese crime family and actively participated in or carried out eight contract murders of civilians and mob rivals.
Stephen Sullivan: Officer Sullivan shot and killed Eleanor Bumpurs, a 66-year-old arthritic woman, with a shotgun during an eviction enforcement action in her Bronx apartment in 1984. Sullivan was acquitted of second-degree manslaughter.
Sean Carroll, Edward McMellon, Richard Murphy, and Kenneth Boss: These four plainclothes officers fired 41 shots at Amadou Diallo, an unarmed Guinean immigrant, outside his Bronx apartment in 1999. All four were acquitted of all criminal charges at trial.
Bryan Conroy: An undercover officer who shot and killed Ousmane Zongo, an unarmed immigrant from Burkina Faso, during a raid on a counterfeit CD operation in a Chelsea warehouse in 2003.
Gescard F. Isnora and Michael Oliver: These detectives were among the officers who fired 50 shots at an unarmed Sean Bell and his friends outside a Queens strip club on the morning of Bell’s wedding in 2006. Isnora, Oliver, and a third detective were acquitted of all criminal charges at trial.
Richard Haste: Officer Haste shot and killed 18-year-old Ramarley Graham in the bathroom of Graham’s Bronx apartment in 2012. Haste’s manslaughter indictment was dismissed by a judge on a technicality, and a subsequent grand jury declined to re-indict him.
Daniel Pantaleo: Officer Pantaleo used a banned chokehold during the 2014 arrest of Eric Garner on Staten Island, which contributed to Garner’s death. Pantaleo was not indicted by a grand jury.
Wayne Isaacs: An off-duty officer who shot and killed Delrawn Small during a road incident in Brooklyn in 2016. Isaacs was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges at trial.
Leon Dinham, Anthony Bottiglieri, Bekim Molic, and Omar Rafiq: opened fire and killed Saheed Vassell, an unarmed man with mental illness on April 4, 2018.

Sunday, June 14, 2020. Brooklyn, New York City – Caribbean Americans gathered on Flatbush Ave and Church Ave in Flatbush and marched to Grand Army Plaza for a rally. Protestors demanded justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and the many other people killed by police officers in the United States of America. They also demanded that Council members and NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio cut the NYPD budget by at least one billion. Allies of the Caribbean community joined the march and rally.
