Friday, January 20th, 2017. New York City – Councilman Jumaane Williams, Jumaane’s mother, Councilman Carlos Menchaca, Marisol Alcantara, Kirsten John Foy of the National Action Network, Margalit Ewart, and another person were arrested in front of Trump Tower in Manhattan.
They had a press conference before the civil disobedience. Protectors said they will resist the Trump administration from Day One. They blocked traffic in front of the Trump Tower on 5th Ave and 56th Street. The civil disobedience was in coordinating with the NYPD. The demonstration coincided with the inauguration of Republican President Donald Trump.
