On Friday, September 4, 2020, people marched through Rochester in protest against police brutality.

Daniel’s brother, Joe Prude, addressed the crowd before the march. Joe said, “It’s time for the mayor to step her ass down. It’s time for La’Ron Singletary to step his ass down.”

Lovely Warren is the mayor of Rochester and La’Ron Singletary is the Rochester Police Chief.

Daniel’s family and protesters want the mayor to fire all the police officers involved in the killing of Daniel Prude.

Joshua Potash says on Twitter, “One car attacked the Black Lives Matter protest in NYC tonight in Times Square injuring at least two people. Another repeatedly tried to drive into protesters by Columbus Circle later on in the dark and rain. Here are the two respective license plates. Please share.”

Joshua Potash also says on Twitter, “The car that accelerated into protesters tonight in Times Square, which many protesters believed to be an undercover cop car, is publicly listed as a “police interceptor” that was sold just over a month ago and is now registered as a personal vehicle.”

Who is the new owner of that car?

I leaved the rally when started to rain. I am safe.

Thursday, September 3, 2020. New York City – Today I covered a rally in Times Square to demand justice for Daniel T. Prude. Daniel was a 41-year-old Black man killed by police officers in Rochester, New York, in March of this year.

Monroe County Medical Examiner Dr. Nadia Granger ruled Prude’s death a homicide caused by “complications of asphyxia in the setting of physical restraint.”

Democrat politicians and many activists talk about police reforms. Politicians passes laws and then the same politicians change those laws to protect police officers.

The New York Daily News reports, “Earlier this year, nationwide anti-police brutality protests prompted the city and state to pass a series of law enforcement reforms.

But NYPD brass were quick to say the new legislation makes officers second-guess their every move. They were especially incensed by a law that both bans chokeholds and holds cops culpable for “sitting, kneeling or standing on the chest or back in a manner that compresses the diaphragm.”

An amendment set to be introduced in the City Council on Thursday would tweak that language.”

The Police Benevolent Association wants NYC Council members to repeal the chokehold ban. Council members passed the chokehold ban, will they repeal it?

Bree Newsome Bass says on Twitter, “The only police reform that will prevent cases like George Floyd & #DanielPrude is to drastically reduce or eliminate the size & scope of policing. Any measure calling for more $$$ or more officers will result in more death. We already know this. That’s why it’s defund & abolish.”

Protesters across the country have been calling for defunding police departments. Joe Biden is the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party. He did not listen to demonstrators. Biden said he will give more money to police departments and he chose “top cop” Kamala Harris for vice president. Kamala was the Attorney General of California. Her record is terrible.

Green Party presidential candidate Howie Hawkins and Green Party vice presidential candidate Angela Walker support a community control of the police.

“Community control means elected neighborhood review boards with real investigative and policy-making powers in their communities and a citywide elected police commission to set citywide police department policies and determine disciplinary sanctions for police misconduct. The Panther’s program was designed to give oppressed communities control of their police departments in order to hold police officers accountable for misconduct and to institute a culture and policies for policing so that police departments serve and protect communities instead of abusing them.” Click here to read more.

Daniel was arrested on Monday, March 23, 2020. Prude died on March 30, 2020, after he was taken off life support, seven days after police officers put a white “spit hood” over his head, which asphyxiated him.

We know about the killing of Daniel Prude because of the footage that was obtained by Prude’s family through a public records request. Attorneys representing the family released it to the public on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

The incident occurred in March, two months before George Floyd’s very similar death in Minneapolis, but the public did not know until Wednesday.

Prude’s brother, Joe Prude, said in a press conference on Wednesday, “How did you see him and not directly say, ‘The man is defenseless, buck naked on the ground’? He’s cuffed up already. Come on. How many more brothers got to die for society to understand that this needs to stop?”

“The daughter of Daniel Prude, a Black man who died of asphyxiation in March after police put a ‘spit hood’ on his head and held his face into the ground, said his death was caused by racism in the police force.”_The guardian

A report on the internal RPD investigation, provided by the family’s lawyer, says, “The officers’ actions and conduct displayed when dealing with Prude appear to be appropriate and consistent with their training.” The report was dated April 27, 11 days after the attorney general’s office began its inquiry.

Lovely Warren is the Mayor of Rochester. Warren is a Black woman and she is Democrat. The Mayor knew about the killing of Daniel but she did not say anything to the public. She did not suspend or fire the officers. For months, the officers were on active duty.

In 2017, during Lovely Warren re-election campaign, mayoral challenger Rachel Barnhart said, “Lovely Warren is corrupt.” You can click here to learn more and you can also click here to read more.

The New York state Attorney General’s office has been investigating the officers’ conduct in the Prude case since mid-April, 2020. The Attorney General is Letitia James. She is a Black woman and she is also Democrat. More than four months and the public still do not know anything. All the officers are still in the Rochester police department.

The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo is Democrat. Andrew Cuomo was the governor of New York state when Eric Garner was murdered by NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo.

Today, the Rochester mayor suspended seven officers involved in the killing of Daniel Prude. The Mayor suspended the officers but the seven officers would still be paid. The Mayor did not fire the officers, which is what Prude’s family and activists wanted.

airtheproject demands the termination of Rochester police officers Mark Vaughn, Troy Taladay, and Francisco Santiago. These are some of the officers involved with the murder of Daniel Prude. The officers are still in the Rochester Police Department (RPD). Project A.I.R. asks people to “CALL the Attorney General’s Office at 585-546-7430 and demand the prosecution of the officers involved in Mr.Prude’s death. Press 2 if it redirects to voicemail.”

Nupol_Justice said on Instagram, “Daniel’s family called for assistance because he (Daniel Prude) was in distress and instead of deploying trained mental health responders, the police came and BRUTALLY MURDERED THIS MAN. This happened two months before George Floyd’s tragic murder. The way in which the Rochester Police Department murdered this man is eerily similar. They thought we wouldn’t find out. The footage was JUST RELEASED. I will not post the video but it’s by far one of the WORST things I’ve seen in my life.”

Where is the accountability in the death of Daniel Prude?

Elliot Shields writes on democratandchronicle.com, “Mr. Prude was in the midst of an acute, manic, psychotic episode. Mr. Prude was unarmed, naked and suffering. He needed help.

Instead, the body worn camera recordings show that Officer Mark Vaughn pushed down on Mr. Prude’s head with his full body weight—essentially doing a triangle pushup on his head—as Troy Talladay kneeled with his full body weight on Mr. Prude’s back.

Francisco Santiago held Mr. Prude’s legs, and Officers Josiah Harris, Andrew Specksgoor and Sergeant Michael Magri stood idly nearby, casually chatting and joking with Vaughn and Talladay as Mr. Prude was dying under their bodyweight.

…reforms are meaningless if police officers are not held accountable when they are responsible for the death of an unarmed civilian like Mr. Prude. …the official position of the Rochester Police Department is that the actions of Officers Vaughn, Talladay and Santiago were appropriate and in accordance with their training.

The RPD’s position is outrageous and demonstrates its longstanding, systemic problem of permitting its officers to use excessive force. Historically, officers who use excessive force are not appropriately supervised or disciplined, which sends the message to other officers that the use of excessive force is acceptable and appropriate.

The officers involved in Mr. Prude’s death must be fired by the City of Rochester and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation.”

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, a police officer shot and killed Deon Kay, a 18-year-old Black teenager in Southeast Washington, DC.

Benjamin Dixon said on Twitter, “Considering how many people I’ve seen defending the police murder of #DanielPrude — naked and in handcuffs on the -ground — I should have no expectations in the shooting of Deon Kay who was running away and tossed his gun.”

Muriel Bowser is the Mayor of Washington, D. C.. Muriel is a Black woman and she is also Democrat.

Red states or Blue states, police brutality is the same.
