Are businesses afraid of Donald Trump and Joe Biden supporters (PHOTOS)?

Thursday, November 5, 2020. Manhattan, New York City – Many store in the area of Times Square have boarded up their windows.

Plywood boards sealed shut some of New York City’s storefronts. Store owners fear of a potential Election Day unrest.

If Joe Biden loses, his supporters could have protests and brake windows. If Donald Trump loses, his supporters could have protests and brake windows.

On Monday, November 2, 2020, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city is not recommending store owners do so.

“We do not have any specific reports or specific threats at this point. Everyone, of course, is concerned about the election results and what plays out after. But I want to emphasize, at this moment, we don’t see a specific challenge,” Bill de Blasio said.

“People want real solutions. “At least we’re not Trump” won’t defeat rising fascism,” said the Green Party US on Twitter.

We still do not know the final results.

According to The Guardian, “Joe Biden has 264 electoral college votes and Donald Trump has 214 electoral college votes (as of this morning).

Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona still in the balance as last presidential election counts trickle in.

No winner has been declared yet. Millions of votes are still to be counted, including in key battleground states.

The winner of the election is determined through a system called the electoral college. Each of the 50 states, plus Washington DC, is given a number of electoral college votes, adding up to a total of 538 votes. More populous states get more electoral college votes than smaller ones.

A candidate needs to win 270 electoral college votes (50% plus one) to win the election.”
