Friday, May 21, 2021. New York City – On Thursday, May 20, 2021, the terrorist state of Israel agreed to a cease-fire. The cease-fire does not mean Israel should be excuse for war crimes.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal. The International Criminal Court must try Netanyahu for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Within Our Lifetime: “MoMa is a place where Zionists funders of the genocide against the Palestinian people come to wash their money and reputation and hang out. Bronx rally for Palestine

Within our Lifetime • United for Palestine says on Facebook, “After taking over Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan, we’re coming to the Bronx next. 5:30 PM Monday 5/31 white plains rd. & Rhinelander Avenue, Bronx, NY 10462 in “Little Yemen.”This is not a moment, it’s a movement. Ceasefire or not, we are resisting colonization and genocide everyday. We are collaborating with Take Back The Bronx, Comité Boricua En La Diáspora and others under the Bronx Palestine organizing committee to continue to organize and rally for Palestine. Join us in the Bronx to defend your neighborhood, defend Palestine, and decolonize from the Bronx to Yemen to Palestine.”

John Jay college in Manhattan

Within our Lifetime • United for Palestine says on Facebook, “This Friday May 28th (2021) at 3 pm in front of John Jay college in Manhattan 524 W 59th street we are mobilizing with SJPs, students, staff, faculty and others to continue to call out CUNYs complicity in Palestinian oppression. From investing in companies that facilitate the occupation, to punishing pro Palestine speech on campus for the last decade. For those who know the origins of WOL we started out at CUNY because different SJP chapters were being unfairly targeted by administration on top of all the zionist harassment all over the city and different CUNY campuses. Since then we’ve seen this continue from new organizers in these campuses to our own members still facing these issues at CUNY. We need to show the largest public Black and brown university system in the country that the people stand with Palestine and CUNY needs to get with the program. No more birthright trips, no zionist curriculum, an end to harassment of Palestinian students and organizers, and divesting from Israeli companies and any companies that facilitate Palestinian oppression.”

Museum of Modern Art

Friday, May 21, 2021 at 4 PM. Urban Plaza. 31 west 53rd street (and 6th Ave).
Within Our Lifetime says, “we are going to the museum of modern art with @decolonizethisplace to stand against zionists “art-washing” apartheid.”

“SHABBAT FOR PALESTINIAN LIBERATION”

The demonstration “SHABBAT FOR PALESTINIAN LIBERATION” will be on Friday, May 21, 2021. 6:30 PM.
Grand Army Plaza. Brooklyn, NYC.

Jewish Voice for Peace NYC say on Instagram, “If you are outraged by what the Israeli government is continuing to do to Palestinians, join us this Friday at Grand Army Plaza.

Over the past week, Israel has targeted Palestinian families, media outlets, schools, hospitals, and even Gaza’s only COVID test site. In the face of unimaginable violence, Palestinians across the world are rising up in unified resistance to ongoing Israeli apartheid. We are profoundly moved by their resistance and commit ourselves to standing with them with determination like never before.

Already, the tide is turning. Public opinion is on the side of freedom. Hundreds of thousands are taking to the streets. Yesterday in the House and today in the Senate, @aoc and @berniesanders announced that they are introducing resolutions in Congress that would block the United States’ planned $735 million sale of bombs to Israel.

At last week’s emergency action at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, 700+ Jewish New Yorkers showed up at @senschumer’s doorstep to demand he take action to end US military funding to Israel. This week, let’s make it even BIGGER. Cancel your plans, invite friends, bring signs. If you are new to the movement for Palestinian freedom, we welcome you with open arms.

As Jews, we must stand unequivocally with Palestinians their struggle for their homes, their land, and their lives.”

Global Day of Action

The Global Day of Action will be on Saturday, May 22, 2021. There will be a “Sunnyside rally to defend Palestine” in Queens, New York City on Saturday, May 22, 2021. 1 PM. “Bring Flags, Signs, and wear a Mask/Keffiyeh!,” say the organizers. People will gather on Queens Boulevard and 46th Street.

Within our Lifetime • United for Palestine says on Facebook, “Queens vs. Brooklyn let’s see who can do it better. People are asking if this is still happening because of the “ceasefire” . Yes it’s still happening and that changes nothing. Gaza has been under siege and blockade for 15 years. No freedom of movement, no clean water, no work, constant bombardment from israel and destruction of infrastructure. Do not limit speaking out on Palestine to the times when massive bombs are dropping. Violence is always there as long as israeli colonialism exists. Being trapped in the worlds largest open air prison is violence. We must go even harder now! Celebrate our resistance while ensuring that the understanding of our struggle goes beyond war crimes and human rights violations. Palestine is an indigenous struggle against settler colonialism. As long as israeli colonization exists, we must be there to fight it.Also it’s not a “conflict” between “Israel” and Hamas. It’s a struggle that the Palestinian people are collectively waging against oppression.”

At least 232 Palestinians, including 65 children, have been killed in Gaza by the terrorist state of Israel. At least 1,900 Palestinians have been injured by Israel.

At least 25 Palestinians, including 4 children have been killed in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. At least 6,309 Palestinians were injured by Israel.

“As you follow news about the ceasefire, settlers attack Palestinian homes in Jerusalem. A reminder that this struggle is not over till we are free. Nonetheless, it’s good to hear all those fireworks outside now celebrating the victory in this round,” says Fayrouz Sharqawi

Sana Saeed says on Twitter, “The ceasefire will not end Israeli violence. It will not end the occupation, the ethnic cleansing, apartheid, the siege on Gaza; it will not stop the displacement of Palestinians in Jerusalem. It will not rebuild Gaza. The Israeli assault was a symptom not cause.”

“The first thing UN member states should do is to mandate an international commission of inquiry to investigate systematic discrimination and repression based on group identity in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel,” says Louis Charbonneau.

Diana Buttu says, “This isn’t a ”ceasefire” – never is. Israel will continue to kill Palestinians by land, sea and air in the coming days, weeks and months as it has done with every ”ceasefire”. #FreePalestine”

“A ceasefire does not end the blockade on Gaza, stop the theft of Palestinian land, or abate the violent oppression of Palestinians everywhere. We will not go back to the status quo of Israeli apartheid and colonialism—all funded by our US government,” say Jewish Voice for Peace.
