WOL said after the demonstration, “From today’s action where we confronted the Zionist embassy and drowned out the counter protesters with chants of Globalize the intifada. We also confronted the embassies consulates and missions of Arab countries that have normalized relations with Israel including, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan, Bahrain, Morocco, Turkey, and Egypt.

We know the people of these nations are with us, and we had people from these countries marching alongside us today against the actions of their government. This is what globalize the intifada looks like.”

Within Our Lifetime will have demonstrations every week. Information on their Instagram account or on their website wolpalestine.com.

Within Our Lifetime is a Palestinian-led community organization that has been building the movement for Palestine in New York City since their founding in 2015.

Martyrs Of Palestine

WOL says, ” On Saturday, July 31st, we gathered in Bay Ridge for a Memorial & Rally to Honor the Martyrs of Palestine, part of our #GlobalizeTheIntifada campaign.

As Palestine disappears from the headlines and people go back to turning a blind eye, we took to the streets of 5th Avenue to lift up the names and faces and stories of our martyrs and let the world know that their sacrifices will not go in vain. Allah yerhamhom.

From 38 year old Imad Dweikat who was shot and killed by occupation forces on August 6th in Beita, one week after our memorial, to 11 year old Mohammed Al-Alami – shot dead in Beit Ummar on July 28th, to 29 year old Mai Afaneh, murdered while driving north of Al-Quds on June 16th.

They are just a few of the hundreds of Palestinians who have been murdered by occupation forces so far this year. And they all left behind families, loved ones and dreams of seeing a liberated Palestine in their lifetime.

While they are no longer here to fight for the liberation of our homeland, we can, and we must carry on this fight in their memory.”

On Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021, 25 year old Palestinian Dia Al-Din Al-Sbarini was shot by occupation forces during a raid in Jenin and left in critical condition, fighting for his life.

On Wednesday, August 11th, 2021, he succumbed to his wounds and died after a week in the hospital, making him the latest martyr in the struggle for Palestinian liberation. Allah Yerhamo.

Saleh Ammar, 19 years old, Jenin. Raed Abu Saif, 21 years old, Jenin. Amjad Hussainiya, 22 years old, Jenin. Nour Jarrar, 19 years old, Jenin.

On Monday, August 16, 2021, “four Palestinian youth were shot and killed by occupation forces as they defended Jenin against an invasion. Allah Yerhamhom,” says Within Our Lifetime.

Globalize the Intifada

“As Palestinians continue to bravely confront ethnic cleansing and genocide, it’s time to globalize the Intifada. This call is rooted in direct action and driven by the belief that all colonized and oppressed people have the right to take back their land, to realize self-determination, and to win their liberation by any means necessary. We build upon the revolutionary spirit and inspiration of Palestinian resistance, in the understanding that our own liberation is either collective or nonexistent, and that it must reflect the interconnectedness of our struggles in our neighborhoods and homelands. That is why we are organizing actions every week as we build towards September 17th (2021), a peak day of action across New York City and beyond,” says WOL.

WOL adds, “How can you amplify the message of Globalize the Intifada? Organize an action in your neighborhood along with other communities who support Palestinian liberation and who want to channel the spirit and example of the Palestinian intifada for their own ends. Make it clear that our mutual liberation is interdependent, and identify common targets that have an active hand in the domination of our peoples. To those who participate in, and profit from, the oppression of people here in the U.S. and around the world–your days of comfort are coming to an end. In the coming weeks, the boroughs of this city will become a theater of operations where we can actualize the interconnectedness of our struggles with a diversity of strategies and tactics. Globalize the Intifada will be an ongoing strike at the heart of empire with Palestine as its compass.”

A call from Palestine: Unite against Cyber-Surveillance & Repression

“The growing international scandal around the Israeli NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware, used by dictatorships and authoritarian regimes in perpetrating numerous crimes and human rights violations, is only the tip of the iceberg. For years, Israel and its high-tech companies have been exporting spyware and other intrusive surveillance technology across the globe, including to some of the most ruthless regimes,” says the BDS Movement.

BDS adds, “This technology is a direct outcome of the research and practice that sustains Israeli apartheid in its repression of the Palestinian people. Mass as well as targeted surveillance of disenfranchised Indigenous Palestinians, who are denied basic rights and recourse to justice, is a core feature of Israel’s system of repression, oppression and colonial dispossession.”

As Edward Snowden says: “Their only products are infection vectors. They’re not security products. …They don’t make vaccines – the only thing they sell is the virus.”

The BDS Movement calls on justice movements, progressive organizations, and people of conscience around the world to:
Join us in campaigning to ban cyber-surveillance and to end its role in the violation and erosion of human and civic rights.
Stop the NSO Group’s dirty – and deadly – business across the globe.
Call for an end to military and security relations with apartheid Israel.
