On Monday, September 6, 2021, the organization Within Our Lifetime (WOL) said on Instagram, “Today we join Palestinians around the world in celebrating the news that six Palestinian political prisoners being held at the so-called “maximum security” zionist Gilboa prison facility escaped overnight through a tunnel that they dug.

Their escape marks one of the most successful jailbreaks in recent history in Palestine and around the world, and was celebrated on the streets of Palestine with people handing out sweets on the street from Gaza to the West Bank.

From now on, September 6th will go down in Palestinian history as a day to celebrate the resistance of our people against zionist colonialism, and the ingenuity of our freedom fighters, who continue to embarrass the zionist entity day in and day out.

The names of the six heroic jailbreakers are:
Zakaria Zubeidi, 46, from Jenin Camp.
Mahmoud Abdullah Ardah, 46, from Jenin.
Mohamed Qassem Ardah, 39, from Jenin.
Yaqoub Mahmoud Qadri, 49, from Bir al-Basha, Jenin.
Ayham Nayef Kamamj, 35, from Kafr Dan.
Munadil Yaqoub Nfeiat, 26, from Ya’bad, southwest of Jenin

Freedom for all Palestinian prisoners!
Victory to the heroic jailbreakers!
Soon all will be liberated!”

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, WOL said, “If I know anything at all, it’s that a wall is just a wall and nothing more at all. It can be broken down.”— Assata Shakur

September 6th will be a day of celebration for years to come, forever known by Palestinians as the anniversary of the successful escape of six Palestinian freedom fighters from Jenin from Gilboa prison in occupied 1948 Palestine.

As we continue to celebrate their heroism and their resistance, we also think back to the legacy of Palestinian political prisoners attempting and succeeding in escaping from zionist detention, which includes the Shatta Prison escape in 1958, the Gaza Prison escape in 1987, the Kfar Yona Prison escape in 1996, and the Ofer Prison escape in 2002.

This legacy also lives on here in the US. In November 1979, Assata Shakur, revolutionary and freedom fighter with the Black Liberation Army was freed from prison in New Jersey by Mutulu Shakur, Sekou Odinga, Silvia Baraldini and Marilyn Buck. Years later in 1984, Assata resurfaced in Cuba, where she was granted political asylum.

This quote from her autobiography is one that will continue to ring true from the prison walls in the US to the prison walls in Palestine to Jenin to Cuba and beyond.”

Outraged at apartheid Israel’s crimes against Palestinians? Here are 5 things you can do.

The BDS Movement says on its website bdsmovement.net, “In many countries, governments and corporations are deeply complicit with Israel’s decades-old regime of military occupation, settler-colonialism and apartheid, just as they were complicit in the apartheid regime in South Africa. Israel can only sustain this regime of oppression with international complicity.

Here are the 5 most effective things YOU can do to challenge this complicity and support the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality:”
