NYC emergency protest to defend Palestine.

Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Manhattan, New York City – On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, Palestinians, anti-Zionist Jews, Latino people, and other supporters of Palestine held a rally in front of the Zionist mission (Israeli consulate) at 800 Second Avenue, in Manhattan, New York City.

After the rally, they marched through different streets until they reached the corner of East 59th Street and 5th Avenue, in the same borough of Manhattan, where they ended the demonstration.

The demonstration was after Zionists attacked Palestinians inside and outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Israel bombing Gaza.

The organization Within Our Lifetime said after the rally and march, “On Wednesday in NYC hundreds of people left their homes, many while fasting, and took to the streets to unequivocally stand in support of the brave Palestinian resistance, reminding the world that colonized people have the right to resist “by any means necessary,” as El-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz, Malcolm X, asserted in 1965. To this day, these 4 words continue to inspire Palestinians and oppressed people fighting for their liberation around the world.

As occupation forces blocked zionist settlers from marching on Bab al-Amud in their annual “flag march” provocation Wednesday, fearing the response from the Palestinian resistance, zionists in the belly of the beast tried to organize a counter-protest which also ended in failure with only 4 attendees. The largest opposition we faced was from the NYPD, who trains with the IOF and sent dozens of cops, including the notoriously violent “SRG” unit, to intimidate us, surveil us and stifle our calls for justice.

But even in the face of this repression we shut down the streets with @samidoun_nynj, @palestinianyouthmovement, @existenceisresistance, @decolonizethisplace and hundreds of youth from across the city.

Together we declared our unwavering support for the heroic Palestinians defending our people and land, honored our martyrs and demanded an end to the ongoing Nakba and the zionist entity’s recent escalation of attacks on Palestinians in Al-Aqsa, Gaza, Jenin and beyond.

As part of @samidounnetwork’s Call to Action for 10 Days of Struggle for Palestinian Prisoners’ Liberation, we also uplifted the call to #FreeAhmadManasra and ALL Palestinian political prisoners.

Until all Palestinian prisoners are free, and every inch of Palestine has been liberated from zionist occupation, we will continue to fight for liberation and return within our lifetime, by any means necessary.”

Anti-Zionist Jews of the organization Neturei Karta attended the demonstration.

They shared a video on their Facebook page: “Rabbis attending rally protesting Zionist provocations on Al-AqsaIn front of the Israeli consulate in New York City, on April 20, 2022.”

They say on their website nkusa.org, “Neturei-Karta is the Aramaic term for “Guardians of the City. The name Neturei-Karta originates from an incident in which R. Yehudah Ha-Nassi (Rabbi Judah the Prince) sent R. Hiyya and R. Ashi on a pastoral tour of inspection. In one town they asked to see the “guardians of the city” and the city guard was paraded before them. They said that these were not the guardians of the city but its destroyers, which prompted the citizens to ask who, then, could be considered the guardians. The rabbis answered, “The scribes and the scholars,” referring them to Tehillim (Psalms) Chap. 127. (Jerusalem Talmud, Tractate Hagiga. 76c).

The name was given to a group of Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem who refused (and still refuse) to recognize the existence or authority of the so-called “State of Israel” and made (and still make) a point of publicly demonstrating their position, the position of the Torah and authentic unadulterated Judaism.

The group was founded in Jerusalem, Palestine in 1938, splitting off from Agudas Yisroel. Agudas Yisroel was established in 1912 for the purpose of fighting Zionism. Gradually lured by money and honor they sold out to the “Golden-Calf” (see Exodus, XXXII) of Zionism. Those who wanted to maintain their faith and continue the struggle against Zionism, dissociated themselves from Agudas Yisroel and associated parties.”

Nakba Day will be on May 15, 2022.

“Save the date. May 14th at John Jay, May 15th in Bay Ridge. Join us for two full days to commemorate the Nakba, the 14th will be a day of political education, speakers, organizers, music, food, and Palestinian goods. On the 15th we will take this energy into the streets, turning our education and agitation into mobilization. Both days are an opportunity to learn about and take action for Palestine.

This Nakba day, Palestine lives. As our people back home are facing increased attacks from zionist colonial violence in the continuation of the Nakba, we remain steadfast in our struggle to liberate Palestine by any means necessary. While the Nakba and zionist colonialism is an ongoing attempt to erase Palestine, but through this all we know Palestine lives, and will be free within our lifetime.”_Within Our Lifetime

On Monday April 18, 2022, the organization Within Our Lifetime said on its social media, “Gaza is currently under attack. Once again during Ramadan, the holiest time of the year for Muslims. Zionists have escalated violence against Palestinians, they are bombing Gaza like they did last year. This comes after the arrest of the nearly 500 Palestinians since Friday while attempting to pray at Al-Aqsa. This also follows the occasion of Palestinian Prisoners Day on April 17th, bringing to light the fact that there are nearly 4,500 Palestinian prisoners behind bars in Zionist dungeons. 530 are jailed without charge or trial under administrative detention. 160 child prisoners, 32 women prisoners and 549 serving life sentences.

We call for urgent mobilization across the world to support Palestinian resistance and liberation by any means necessary!

We call for an end to Zionist bombardment of Gaza, attacks on Al-Aqsa and all forms of Zionist colonial violence! We demand the freedom for all Palestinian political prisoners and an end to the occupation’s attacks and mass arrests of Palestinians in Al-Aqsa. Join us to demand an end to the ongoing Nakba and escalation of Zionist colonial violence in Gaza Al-Aqsa and all of Palestine and declare your support for the heroic Palestinian resistance defending Palestinian people and land, and their right to resist until liberation and return, by any means necessary.”

Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, has issued a statement marking the Quds Day which falls on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

In the statement, which was published in Arabic, the spokesman reiterated Iran’s vision for a solution to the Palestinian question. He said the basic solution to the Palestinian question is the return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland and the holding of a general referendum among the aboriginal people of Palestine.

“This year, we welcome the International Quds Day on the last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan in circumstances in which the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Palestine from the clutches of the usurper racist Zionist enemy has become more necessary and more important than ever before, as Jerusalem and Palestine have become the center of solidarity between all Muslims and the free people of the world,” Khatibzadeh said.

He added, “The International Quds Day, which was established in the eternal calendar of the blessed month of Ramadan, at the historic initiative of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Eminence Imam Khomeini (may God have mercy on him), came to confirm that Quds is a factor of unity and solidarity for the Islamic world and the cause of Palestine is not only Islamic, but international par excellence.” READ MORE HERE.
