Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Brooklyn, Lenapehoking (New York City) – On Monday, May 11, 2026, Jews were selling and buying STOLEN PALESTINIAN LAND inside the “Young Israel of Midwood” synagogue in Midwood. Hundreds of peaceful New Yorkers, including anti-zionist Jews, protested the illegal sale of STOLEN land in Palestine (Israel is also STEALING land in Lebanon and Syria).

The protest “STOP THE SALE OF STOLEN PALESTINIAN LAND” was organized by the organization PAL-Awda NY/NJ.

The rabbi of the “Young Israel of Midwood” synagogue is Eli Baruch Shulman. The protest was going to be outside the synagogue at 1694 Ocean Ave, but New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers closed several streets. PAL-Awda NY/NJ shared a video on Instagram that shows different zionists. A zionist man said he would kill peaceful pro-Palestine, anti-genocide New Yorkers. David Kuras, a zionist man said he hates Black people (David Kuras attacked pro-Palestine protestors on May 5, 2026, but NYPD officers did not arrest him). Fadi shared a video by Status Coup News on X and said, “David Kuras (pink hoodie) assaulted a woman last week, nypd escorted him off the block and cut him free. Here he is attacking people again today.” A zionist woman spat on rabbi Dovid Feldman, a member of Neturei Karta International (more info bellow). A zionist man threatened to kill a Jewish man protesting against the sale of STOLEN land in Palestine (more info bellow). Zionist Gavi Shapiro and other zionists didn’t hide that they support the genocide and ethnic cleansing against Indigenous Palestinians. On a video from “Manhattan for Palestine,” Gavi Shapiro said, “More genocide in gaza. I love genocide.” Another zionist said, “I hate black people.” Another zionist following a woman said, “I am gonna stick it up your ass.” Ali shared a video on X that shows zionists stole a Palestinians flag in front of NYPD officers and burn it. NYPD cops did not arrest them. Talia Jane says that a zionist man maced pro-Palestine demonstrators, but NYPD officers did not arrest him. Sean shared a video on X and said, “This is Zionism, a disgusting, ethno-supremacist, racist ideology built on fascism and genocide. These are the people who support it. Angry, violent, threatening those who oppose genocide, all to protect the sale of stolen land.”

A video by Subway_DJ and shared by Ali shows a NYPD officer violently shoving at least one journalist.

STATEMENT BY PAL-Awda NY/NJ

“Once again Mamdani’s NYPD kept protestors 250 feet away, out of sight and sound, from the zionist real estate event selling stolen Palestinian land. Who needs a buffer zone bill when you have this mayor. Protestors were trapped behind rows of barricades and hundreds of police officers. Mamdani and the NYPD working together to facilitate ethnic cleansing in Palestine,” said PAL-Awda NY/NJ on X on May 12, 2026.

PAL-Awda NY/NJ said on Instagram on May 12, 2026, “Zohran, take a stand — stop the sales of stolen Palestinian land. Another week another stolen Palestinian land sale protected and enabled by @newyorkstateAG @nycmayor – audit and stop stolen Palestinian land sales, remove the tax exempt status of those hosting these events; drop Jessica Tisch as Police Commissioner; and disband the Strategic Response Group!!”

On May 12, 2026, PAL-Awda NY/NJ said on X, “Stop the Sale of Stolen Palestinian Land: Our Movement Remains Steadfast.

On Monday, PAL-Awda NY/NJ and hundreds of our community members rallied in Brooklyn to protest the “Great Israeli Real Estate Event of 2026,” just one week after we mobilized to protest and disrupt its Manhattan iteration. Once again, police and Zionist agitators, emboldened by our elected officials, violently protected an event that violated local, federal and international law, and brutalized New Yorkers of conscience.

Our community was confronted by the violent, racist face of Zionism as it exists in our neighborhoods: we were mobbed by hundreds of Zionist counter protesters who attacked our community members with pepper spray, eggs, and other objects and hurled death threats. The agitators also physically harassed Neturei Karta rabbis, and used anti-Black, homophobic, and Islamophobic slurs against protesters.

The “Great Israeli Real Estate Event,” run by Israeli real estate companies Home in Israel, Emanuel Group, and International Marketing and Promotion, alongside Israeli Leumi Bank, provides prospective settlers with financial consultation to buy property in “Anglo neighborhoods” built on stolen Palestinian land. The event website openly promotes real estate in illegal settlements, such as the Gush Etzion settlement in the occupied West Bank.

Zionist agencies chose to host their illegal event in Young Israel of Midwood, following a pattern of Zionist agencies hiding illegal activities inside houses of worship, schools, and homes, to avoid accountability. The criteria used to vet attendees for the event violate the Fair Housing Act and federal anti-discrimination laws.

Hundreds of NYPD officers once again froze the blocks surrounding the land sale, barricaded protesters, and protected Zionist agitators. The tacit collaboration between the NYPD and Zionist agitators comes as no surprise to us. The NYPD, with the encouragement of our elected officials, has consistently demonstrated its eagerness to aggress New Yorkers of conscience and protect the illegal practice of Zionist land theft occurring within our neighborhoods.

As we protest, state-level elected officials are debating a series of unconstitutional anti-protest “buffer zones” in response to community protests against the sale of stolen of Palestinian land. Similar bills have been debated at the city level, leading to the passage of intro 1B, which expanded the NYPD’s power to create unprecedented no-protest zones surrounding houses of worship.

Ironically, the NYPD barricaded us in front of other synagogues in the neighborhood, only directly blocking us from the land sale, and keeping our protest at a 250-foot distance, out of sight and sound from the event. The NYPD’s so-called “frozen zones” have little to do with “protecting” houses of worship, and everything to do with protecting the illegal sale of Palestinian land.

PAL-Awda and our community has been pushing for accountability for years. In March 2024, the PAL Law Commission, a group of Palestinian lawyers and advocates, submitted an official demand letter to the Attorney General of New York, calling for audit and investigations of these illegal events, which violate New York Property Law, New York Human Rights Law, state and federal real estate and housing laws and international laws. We are still awaiting a response.

Yesterday, hundreds of New Yorkers took to the streets chanting, “Mayor Mamdani take a stand, stop the sale of stolen land.” Once again, we underscore our demands to those in power: the Mamdani administration must advance meaningful calls to the Attorney General to investigate, audit and stop illegal Palestinian land sales; remove the tax exempt status of religious institutions and schools hosting these events; and drop Jessica Tisch as Police Commissioner and disband the SRG, to curb the NYPD’s discriminatory targeting of our community.

In the face of those who attempt to silence us, we reaffirm our commitment to stand against the violent expansion of the genocidal Zionist project from within our neighborhoods. Guided by the people of Palestine, our movement remains steadfast. Palestine is not for sale. No settlers on stolen Palestinian land.”

New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement (NYCPYM)

The New York City Chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement shared a video an said on Instagram on May 11, 2026, “Right now, on Ocean Ave in Brooklyn, New York, settlers are convening to buy property in “Anglo Neighborhoods” on Palestinian land. This is a blatant violation of local, state, and federal laws. And, more importantly, is a tangible attempt at accelerating the displacement of Palestinians right here in Brooklyn. We’re joining PAL-Awda to refuse to allow this to go on undeterred. We will continue to protest and call on all people of conscience to do the same.”

NYCPYM added, “Outside of an illegal land sale in Brooklyn, dozens of Zionists have begun counter-protesting, hurling slurs and violent threats at protesters. This is the face of Zionism.”

“As settlers in Brooklyn continue their attempt at the purchase of Palestinian land. We have joined PAL-Awda in defense of our land and people. There are thousands in the streets who refuse this grave violation of local and international law,” added NYCPYM.

NYCPYM said, “TODAY: Just hours ago in Brooklyn, settlers from across New York congregated to attempt the purchase of stolen Palestinian land. These real estate events, rampant and constant across the tri-state area, are not only illegal across all sectors of the city, state, and country, but are a physical manifestation of the ongoing dispossession of Palestinian land.

We are proud to have joined PAL-Awda in this fight. We refuse to allow the Nakba to perpetuate in our own backyard and will continue this fight until the cessation of these land sales is enacted.”

MAS Youth Center (Brooklyn)

“MAS Youth lead Magreb Salah at the illegal land sale event of stolen Palestinian land in Brooklyn, protected by a line of anti-Zionist Jewish allies. These land sales are happening all over New York and our faith teaches us to stand up against injustice, where ever it is. From mosques to the streets, activism is worship. #FreePalestine,” said MAS Youth Center on Instagram on May 11, 2026.

Neturei Karta international

Neturei Karta international said on X on May 12, 2026, “Jews and Palestinians standing united against the sale of stolen Palestinian land.

The protest was against crimes being committed in a synagogue — a desecration of God’s name and the holiness of the sacred place.”

Neturei Karta international added, “Peaceful protest by anti-Zionist Jews and pro-Palestine supporters in Midwood yesterday against the sale of stolen Palestinian land, being chased and harassed by a mob of Zionists.”

Neturei Karta international said on Instagram on May 12, 2026, “Shocking hate crime in NYC: A #Zionist threatened to come to a Jewish man’s house and kill him because he stands against Zionism and its crimes.

This happened yesterday at the protest in Midwood against the sale of stolen Palestinian land.”

Neturei Karta international added, “Shocking hate crime: A Zionist woman spit in the face of a prominent anti-Zionist rabbi during the protest yesterday against the sale of stolen Palestinian land in Midwood .

This act of violence and hate must be condemned.

VOICE OF RABBIS PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE MIDWOOD SYNAGOGUE REAL ESTATE EVENT

Tuesday, May 12, 2026. “Yesterday, a real estate event promoting the sale of land in the Holy Land was held at Young Israel of Midwood, without the backing of any recognized Orthodox Rabbinical authority.

Beyond the deeply controversial issue of marketing property in occupied territories, the very use of a synagogue for a real estate expo is virtually unheard of in traditional Jewish communities.

Such events are normally conducted in convention halls or commercial venues — not inside holy sanctuaries.

The reason for hosting it in a synagogue appears evident: the organizers anticipated public backlash and sought to frame any protest as an attack on Jews outside a synagogue, rather than legitimate opposition to a provocative political real estate event.

This represents a cynical exploitation of a sacred space in order to advance the narrative that Jews are unsafe in New York.

It must also be understood that a significant number of Jews in New York openly reject Zionism and do not wish to be associated with the State of Israel.

Zionist institutions continue attempting to blur the distinction between Judaism and Zionism, insisting that criticism of Israel automatically constitutes antisemitism. Provocative Zionist events are therefore deliberately brought into Jewish neighborhoods and even synagogues, expecting outrage and confrontation to follow.
