One of the participants was Pauline Park, a social justice activist and writer. For many years, Pauline Park has been marching in support of Palestine.
“Queers for Palestine marched in the Queens Pride Parade this afternoon: the first official Palestine solidarity contingent in the history of the parade,” said Pauline Park.
“Heritage of Pride banned uniformed cops from the New York City LGBT Pride March; Queens Pride’s Danny Dromm & David Kilmnick welcomed Eric Adams & uniformed NYPD members four years ago this week (6.5.22) & repeated the welcome to the NYPD at the 2026 Queens Pride Parade (6.7.26),” said Pauline Park on X.
NYPD cops do not march in THE PEOPLE’S PRIDE, the New York City Dyke March and the Queer Liberation March (more information bellow).
The Queens Pride Parade marched down 37th Avenue from 89th Street to 75th Street. This year was the 34th anniversary of Queens Pride.
They said, “Free, free Palestine,” “No Pride in genocide,” “Viva, viva Palestina,” “Protect trans lives,” “No pinkwashing!” “Queers against the israeli occupation!” “Free all Palestinian political prisoners,” “End all US aid to Israel,” “Stonewall was an intifada,” etc.

The Queens Pride Parade was found in 1993. It is held annually on the first Sunday in June. They celebrated their 34th anniversary on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Aber Kawas is a candidate running for New York Senate to represent District 12th (Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside, Maspeth, & Ridgewood). Kawas won the democratic primary on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Aber defeated Assemblyman Steven Raga. The general election is on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Aber wants to succeed outgoing State Sen. Michael Gianaris in the 12th Senate District.
Aber Kawas is the daughter of Palestinian refugees. She was born and raised in a working class family in New York City.
“Intifada” is an Arabic word that translates literally to “shaking off” or “tremor”. Politically, it means an uprising or rebellion and refers to a campaign of civil disobedience and resistance against an occupying force or oppressive authority.
For Palestinians and many activists, the word is used to symbolize resistance against oppression and the struggle for freedom, sovereignty, and self-determination. When pro-Palestinian protesters use terms like “Globalize the Intifada,” supporters typically frame it as a call for international solidarity and pressure on Israel to stop stealing Palestinian land, stop committing genocide and ethnic cleansing against Indigenous Palestinians (Israel is also stealing land in Syria and Lebanon, and it is committing genocide and ethnic cleansing against people in Lebanon).
Friday, May 15, 2026, marked the 78th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (“catastrophe”), commemorating the May 15, 1948, displacement of more than 700 thousand Palestinians during Israel’s invention. Within Our Lifetime and PAL-Awda NY/NJ held protests in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Stonewall was an intifada
Stonewall was riots because of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) police brutality against LGBTQ+ people. NYPD officers should never be allowed in a Pride Parade, Pride March.
The Stonewall riots were a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations and clashes with NYPD cops. They began in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, after NYPD police officers raided the Stonewall Inn—a queer bar in Greenwich Village, New York City.
The 1969 NYPD police attacked sparked an uprising and helped catalyze the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.
NYPD police raids on queer bars, NYPD police brutality against LGBTQ+ people were common at the time, but on this night, fed-up patrons and neighborhood residents decided to fight back. When NYPD officers began aggressively manhandling people, including dragging a butch lesbian out of the bar, the crowd revolted, throwing pennies, bottles, and cobblestones at the police.
While not the first queer rights protest in America, Stonewall was a massive turning point. It galvanized the LGBTQ+ community and launched the modern gay rights movement in the world.
The event is the origin of modern Pride events, which are commemorated in many countries every June. The area was later designated as a national monument by the U.S. National Park Service to honor its critical place in civil rights history.
On February 9, 2026, the Donald Trump administration abruptly removed the Pride flag from the park service-run flagpole at the Stonewall National Monument, citing federal guidelines that generally limited agency sites to flying only the U.S. flag, the Department of the Interior flag, and the POW/MIA flag.
On Monday, April 13, 2026, the government reached a court-enforceable settlement confirming that the Pride flag fits within NPS policy exemptions. The settlement required the NPS to restore three flags on the federal pole: the U.S. flag, the Pride flag, and the NPS flag.

From October 2023 to October 2025, NYPD officers arrested heterosexual and LGBTQ+ New Yorkers protesting against the Israel-USA HOLOCAUST against Indigenous Palestinians in Gaza. NYPD agents also arrested journalists covering peaceful pro-Palestine, anti-genocide protests.
While Israel was, and still is, killing Palestinians, NYPD officers were arresting PEACEFUL pro-Palestine protestors and journalists.
NO to pinkwashing
Israel is bombing and killing LGBTQ+ people in Palestine and Lebanon.
“NO to pinkwashing” rejects the tactic of using LGBTQ+ rights to distract from or legitimize violence, occupation, and inequality. Activists highlight how this narrative is utilized by the terrorist state of Israel and the zionist military institutions to obscure broader human rights violations.
The zionist Israeli military and government frequently highlight their record on LGBTQ+ rights to project a progressive, democratic image to the world, while continuing military occupation, displacement, and violence against people in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, etc.
No Pride in Genocide
Global LGBTQ+ networks have actively organized under banners like “No Pride in Genocide,” pushing for boycotts of Israeli state-sponsored LGBTQ+ events and Pride parades that feature complicit organizations.

New York City Dyke March
The NYC Dyke March is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026. The grassroots, all-volunteer protest will step off at 5:00 PM from Bryant Park and will march down Fifth Avenue to Washington Square Park.
The Dyke March operates without city permits or corporate sponsorships. Organizers emphasize it as an expression of First Amendment rights rather than a standard parade. More info: www.nycdykemarch.com.

8th Annual Queer Liberation March
The 8th Annual Queer Liberation March will be on Sunday, June 28, 2026. People will gather at 2:30 PM in Union Square. They will start marching at 3 PM. The march will end in Foley Square.
Theme in 2026: “Breaking The Chains of War and Oppression for Trans and Immigrant Lives.”
Organized by the Reclaim Pride Coalition, this demonstration intentionally rejects corporate sponsorship and police involvement, aiming to honor the radical, activist roots of the Stonewall Riots.
“NO COPS, NO CORPS, NO BS!” say organizers on their website queermarch.org.
