Friday, December 11, 2020. New York City – Due to the coronavirus pandemic, starting on Monday, December 14, 2020, it will be prohibited to eat inside restaurants and bars.
Today, New York state governor, Andrew Cuomo said, “Indoor dining will close in New York City starting Monday. Takeout, delivery and outdoor dining will continue.
Hospitalizations have not stabilized, and with a rising infection rate and NYC’s density, this means that indoor dining is too high of a risk.”
New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio said, “As #COVID19 indicators continue to rise, it’s time to shut down indoor dining. This is painful. So many restaurants are struggling. But we can’t allow this virus to reassert itself in our city. I fully support @NYGovCuomo’s decision. Together we’ll fight back this second wave.”
“Total COVID hospitalizations are at 5,321. Of the 212,672 tests reported yesterday, Thursday, December 10, 10,595 were positive (4.98% of total). Sadly, there were 87 fatalities,” Cuomo said.
