Saturday, April 17, 2021. New York City – On Friday, April 16, 2021, the group Mexicanos Unidos and other activists gathered at Barclays Center in Brooklyn; New York City, to demand justice for Adam Toledo.

NYPD officers tried to arrest a peaceful protestor on the sidewalk.

On Monday, March 29, 2021, Chicago police officer, Eric Stillman murdered Adam Toledo. Adam was a 13 years-old Latino boy.

On Wednesday, March 31, detectives contacted Toledo’s mother, Elizabeth Toledo. For two days, Elizabeth thought her son was missing.

Peaceful protesters marched through different streets in Brooklyn. The NYPD Strategic Response Group (SRG) arrested several peaceful demonstrators.

Deputy Inspector Alison Esposito and other NYPD officers tried to arrest a peaceful protestor on the sidewalk.

Mexicanos Unidos says on Instagram that their “mission is to develop a critical collective social consciousness for the Mexican community, in solidarity with all oppressed brothers/sisters.”

They also say that “Starting in July of 2020, we held events to promote social justice, art, & education in Sunset Park, mobilized direct actions in New York & New Jersey, organized mutual aid & rapid response, and more. This year we hope to build on our work and begin a movement for the Mexican diaspora.”

On givingfuel.com Mexicanos Unidos say, “Our fight has many expenses, such as legal fees, material for direct actions, and mutual aid supplies. Moreover, we would like to expand into a space and offer programs on health, education, immigration, and more.”

The Guardian reports that “After a heated week of police violence, protests erupted in several US cities on Friday, at times turning tense.

In the wake of the killings of Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old shot by police after being pulled over, and unarmed 13-year-old Adam Toledo, thousands took to the streets to demonstrate, sometimes into the night.

In Chicago, where Adam was killed, thousands marched in Logan Square after the video of the 13-year-old being shot with his arms raised was released this week.”

Anger remains in Chicago over last month’s deaths of two young men, Anthony Alvarez, 22, and Travon Chadwell, 18, at the hands of police.

Chicago police officer Eric Stillman, 34 years-old, has three misconduct complaints since he became an officer in 2015, according to The Invisible Institute, an investigative organization that tracks police misconduct. Two involve improper search. None resulted in disciplinary action. Chicago Police Department (CPD) protects criminal police officers.

“Hi, I’m Officer Stillman from the Chicago Police Department assigned to the 10th District. I’m also a Marine Staff Sergeant,” says Eric on a video.

Before becoming a police officer, Stillman joined the U.S. Marines. His service included a deployment to Afghanistan. Stillman remains in the Marine Reserves. Did Eric Stillman kill women, men, children in Afghanistan?

On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Communities United for Police Reform said on Twitter, “2 yrs ago today, #NYPD officers Brendan Thompson & Herbert Davis broke Into Kawasaki Trawick‘s Apt. & killed him while he was cooking. Bx DA Darcel Clark refused to prosecute the officers who are still employed. UNACCEPTABLE. Tell @NYCMayor (Bill de Blasio) to #FireNYPD cops who unjustly kill!”
