On the same June 7, 2026, pro-Palestine, anti-genocide LGBTQ+ New Yorkers and allies participated in the Queens Pride Parade in Jackson Heights, Queens.

“On Sunday, 6/7, Broadway Voices for Palestine, with support from @theaterworkersforaceasefire @dancers_for_palestine @resistancerevivalchorus gathered outside of the Tony Awards, “Broadway’s Biggest Night”, to stand in solidarity with theatre artists in Palestine, and to reject the censorship of Palestinian stories and antizionist voices.

Through words, song, and dabke, we kept the tradition of cultural resistance alive and raised our voices to call on the Broadway community to speak up for Palestine. We stood in solidarity with El Hakawati, the Palestinian National Theatre in Jerusalem, and called attention to the recent court order issued by the Zionist Occupation to close the theater’s doors. We highlighted the contradictions of an industry that prides itself on “inclusivity” while attempting to intimidate, censor, and retaliate against anyone who stands firmly against occupation and genocide.

Inside Radio City Hall, BVFP member Ali Bourzgui @ali.louis courageously used his platform to speak up for Palestine in his acceptance speech for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and demonstrated that no matter how hard the people in power try to silence us, solidarity with Palestine is growing rapidly and they will never win!,” said Broadway Voices For Palestine on Monday, June 8, 2026.

On June 8, 2026, Nick Laparra shared a video of Ali Louis Bourzgui on Instagram and said, “My friend and @BroadwayVoicesForPalestine member @Ali.Louis won the Featured Actor In A Musical @TheTonyAwards this evening for his role in @LostBoysMusical! His acceptance speech was absolutely spectacular! I cried my way through it. It’s #CollectiveLiberation or bust, y’all. Today and every single day, #FreePalestine.”

“On Sunday, June 7, theater artists and current Broadway performers in the @broadwayvoicesforpalestine coalition gathered outside The Tony Awards, “Broadway’s Biggest Night,” along with allies from @theaterworkersforaceasefire, @dancers_for_palestine , @resistancerevivalchorus and others to call out Broadway’s silence on israel’s US-funded genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and Broadway’s repression and blacklisting of artists speaking out for Palestinian rights.

In November, israel raided a Palestinian children’s play at Jerusalem’s El Hakawati theater, also know as the Palestinian National Theater. “israel” has threatened to shut down the theater completely.

The artists and allies spoke out against israel’s genocide, apartheid, theft, ethnic cleansing, ethno-supremacy, and the decades-long obstruction of the Palestinian right of return, a right enshrined in international law, UNGA 194, in addition to being a matter of basic morality.

Neither “israel’s” 1948 superimposition on Palestine nor “israel’s” war crimes and crimes against humanity since then would have been possible without the financial, military, technological, and political support of western superpowers. Taxpayers in the US and Europe have been funding this colossal injustice against Palestinians for decades. #tonyawards #justiceforpalestine,” said saltwater elk on June 8, 2026.

Dancers For Palestine invited to a fundraiser for El Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe, on Saturday, June 13, 2026. From 3 PM to 9:30 PM. At Bechdel Project. 252 Green St, Brooklyn, New York City. 10 min walk from Greenpoint Av on the G.

“CALLING ALL BROADWAY WORKERS OF CONSCIENCE & THE NYC THEATRE COMMUNITY.

Join Broadway Voices for Palestine this Sunday, June 7 at 6pm outside Radio City Hall for a rally to stand in solidarity with Palestine on Broadway’s biggest night: the Tony Awards.

Last month, the Zionist occupation threatened El Hakawati, the Palestinian National Theater, with a court order to shut down their theater in Jerusalem. In the last two and a half years of Israel’s genocidal bombing campaign, nearly all cultural institutions in Gaza have been destroyed. Here in NYC, Palestinian theatre makers and advocates for Palestine working in the theater industry are under constant threat of censorship and have been met with intimidation and retaliation from Zionists for speaking out against occupation, apartheid, and genocide.

On Tony Sunday, cultural workers, artists, and organizers will join BVFP outside Radio City Hall to stand in solidarity with theater workers living under siege and occupation in Palestine, to take a stance against censorship in the industry, and to uplift Palestinian artists and culture the best way we know how: through music, dance, and art,” said Broadway Voices For Palestine
