Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old Black college student, died under mysterious circumstances after disappearing during an Independence Day gathering on Horn Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast, United States of America.

July 4, 2026: Wells attended a Fourth of July boating trip and party on Horn Island with a group of friends. His friends later stated they left the island that afternoon without him after experiencing boat trouble, and that Wells chose to stay behind to talk to someone he met.

July 6, 2026: Wells’ body was discovered face-down in the water along the shoreline of Horn Island, two days after he was reported missing.

July – August 2026: Both an independent autopsy and the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office officially listed his cause and manner of death as “undetermined,” though both noted findings consistent with drowning and non-fatal subcutaneous scalp contusions (bruises) on the back of his head.

September 22, 2026: A Jackson County grand jury voted to issue a “no true bill,” declining to bring any criminal charges and concluding there was no credible evidence of criminal conduct or racial motivation.

Wells’ parents, along with family attorney Ben Crump and civil rights advocates, have strongly objected to closing the investigation. They have publicly pointed to head trauma, deleted phone data, and unanswered questions about how he separated from his group, calling on federal authorities like the FBI to step in.

“EMERGENCY ACTION. ATTN NYC WE’RE ALL OUTSIDE FOR NOLAN WELLS & ALL THE PRECIOUS BLACK LIVES THAT WERE STOLEN.

Bring Signs, Flags, Drums, Energy & Your Power!!
Nolan’s Family Deserves Justice!!!Silence is Violence When Children Are Being Violated & UnAlived!

NO MORE COVERUPS. NO EXCUSES. WE DEMAND JUSTICE NOW. BLACK LIVES STILL MATTER,” said Qween Jean on October 11, 2026.
