Sunday, September 6, 2020. Brooklyn, New York City – Today I covered the “Community Carnival” at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, New York City.
Jabari Brisport was one of the speakers today. Jabari is the Democratic nominee for New York’s 25th State Senate district general election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Most voters in the 25th State Senate District are Democrats which is nearly a guarantee of winning the general election. District 25 covers a stretch of eastern and north-central Brooklyn, including the neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Boerum Hill, Red Hook, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Sunset Park, Gowanus, and Park Slope.

Jabari Brisport said Black Lives Matter, Black Caribbean Lives Matter, Black Cisgender Lives Matter, Black LGBT Lives Matter, All Black Lives Matter. Jabari asked people to fill out the census and to vote on November 3, 2020.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, J’ouvert and the 53rd Annual New York Caribbean Carnival were cancelled. The online Carnival celebration will start at 9:00AM EST on Monday, Sept. 7th, 2020.
