Tuesday, December 8, 2020. New York City – Today, the Supreme Court of the United States of America (SCOTUS) turned back an effort by Republican Representative Mike Kelly to overturn election results in Pennsylvania.
The decision was announced in an order with no noted dissents. The court’s order read, “The application for injunctive relief presented to Justice Alito and by him referred to the Court is denied.”
The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest court in the federal judiciary of the United States of America.
Donald Trump appointed Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court of the United States, all of whom refused to hear this election challenge. The other justices are: Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Clarence Thomas, Samuel A. Alito, Jr., John G. Roberts, Jr. and Stephen G. Breyer.
This case is different from the lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton this morning.
