Monday, December 14, 2020. New York City – Today, 538 members of the Electoral College will meet around the country to formally cast their state’s vote. Will they vote for Donald Trump or Joe Biden?
On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Congress will count the electoral votes.
On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, the winner is scheduled to be inaugurated as the next president.
This morning, Vermont’s three electors casted their votes for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, becoming the first state to vote in today’s Electoral College meeting.
New York’s Electoral College delegates emitted their 29 votes for Joe Biden.
Some House Republicans, including Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama and Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, have vowed to challenge the election results when Congress certifies the Electoral College votes on January 6, 2021.
Brad Raffensperger wrote an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal calling Trump’s refusal to concede to President-elect Joe Biden straight out of “the Stacey Abrams playbook.”
In his op-ed, Brad Raffensperger said that Abrams “refused to concede, announced that she would launch major litigation against Georgia’s election system, and began collecting hundreds of millions of dollars from donors convinced the election had been stolen from her” following her defeat to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.
Today Monday, Senior White House adviser Stephen Miller said, “The only date in the Constitution is Jan. 20. So we have more than enough time to right the wrong of this fraudulent election result and certify Donald Trump as the winner of the election.”
Miller continued, “As we speak, today, an alternate slate of electors in the contested states is going to vote and we’re going to send those results up to Congress. This will ensure that all of our legal remedies remain open. That means that if we win these cases in the courts, that we can direct that the alternate state of electors be certified.”
Millions in the United States of America do not believe Joe Biden was legitimately elected.
The Democratic Party should abolish super delegates and the country should abolish the Electoral College.
