VIDEO: Two men attacked an essential worker in the Bronx.

Sunday, May 9, 2021. New York City – On Sunday, May 9, 2021, New York City Police Department (NYPD) released a video of two men who violently tried to steal a moped from an essential worker in the Bronx. The two men look like they are Black men.

VIDEO

The attack happened in front of the 8 East 177th Street in the borough of Bronx on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at approximately 3:25 PM (why the NYPD waited almost one month to release the surveillance video?).

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

As you can see in the video, one of the criminals punched the 27-year-old essential worker. The food delivery worker suffered a scrape to his knee and pain to his back.

The two men stole the cellphone of the food delivery worker, but they could not take the keys of his moped. The two criminals took off when bystanders started to intervene.

Food delivery workers are essential workers. Criminals are stealing e-bikes, motorcycles, money and cell phones from essential workers.

Food delivery workers work so hard in the winter when it is so cold, in the rain, in the summer when it is so hot. Essential workers deserve our respect.

NYPD: “WANTED for ROBBERY: Do you know these guys? On 4/14/21 at approx 3:25 PM, in front of 8 East 177 St in the Bronx, the suspects attempted to take the victim’s moped, fought with him, then took his cellphone. Any info? DM @NYPDTips or anonymously call them at 800-577-TIPS.”
