Tuesday, May 25, 2021. New York City – On Monday, May 25, 2020, former police officer Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd.
The first day of protests in New York City was on Thursday, May 28, 2020. There was a rally in Union Square, Manhattan.
The second day of protests in New York City was on Friday, May 29, 2020. Some people gathered in Prospect Park and marched to Barclays Center in the borough of Brooklyn. NYPD officers attacked peaceful protesters, politicians, a legal observer and journalists.

On Friday, May 29, 2020, Assemblywoman Diana Richardson was pepper-sprayed by the New York City Police Department at the demonstration at Barclays Center, according to a video by Gwynne Hogan.
Amanda Luz Henning Santiago reported on cityandstateny.com, “On May 29, Assemblywoman Diana Richardson and state Sen. Zellnor Myrie attended what they had hoped would be a peaceful protest against police brutality and institutionalized racism at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. However, despite their positions of power as state legislators, both were pepper-sprayed by New York City Police Department officers (Myrie was handcuffed with a zip tie, eyes still burning).”
On the same day, May 29, 2020, Mohammad Mufleh Odeh and other protesters were marching in Brooklyn and happened to be filming when he caught NYPD officer Vincent D’Andraia shoving Dounya Zayer to the ground.

“The City of Minneapolis settled a wrongful death lawsuit with Floyd’s family for $27 million. Chauvin was convicted on two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter on April 20, 2021. The trial of the other three officers at the scene of his death is scheduled to begin August 23, 2021.”_Wikipedia.org
Mohammed Haddad reports on www.aljazeera.com, “Between January 2013 and May 2021, police in the United States killed at least 9,179 people, according to data compiled by Mapping Police Violence, a research and advocacy group. Since Floyd’s death exactly a year ago, the group has recorded at least 1,068 police killings across the country – an average of three killings every day.”
Mohammed adds that, “153 police officers (1.7 percent) were charged with a crime and 38 (0.4 percent) were convicted.” (democrat and republican politicians protect criminal police officers).
On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, 38-year-old Tony McDade, a Black Trans man was shot and killed by a police officer in Tallahassee, Florida. Just moments before the shooting, McDade stabbed and killed 21-year-old Malik Jackson.
Adam Toledo was one of those people killed by police officers in the United States of America. On Monday, March 29, 2021, Chicago police officer, Eric Stillman murdered Adam Toledo. Adam was a 13 years-old Latino boy.
On Friday, April 16, 2021, the group Mexicanos Unidos and other activists gathered at Barclays Center in Brooklyn; New York City, to demand justice for Adam Toledo. Peaceful protesters marched through different streets in Brooklyn. The NYPD Strategic Response Group (SRG) arrested several demonstrators.

On Monday, May 17, 2021, Black Lives Matter said on Twitter, “Black Lives Matter stands in solidarity with Palestinians. We are a movement committed to ending settler colonialism in all forms and will continue to advocate for Palestinian liberation. ( always have. And always will be ). #freepalestine”
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the BDS Movement responded to Black Lives Matter. “Thank you for your solidarity. From Ferguson to Palestine, our struggles against racism, white supremacy and for a just world are united!,” said BDS.
